Neist Point Lighthouse 🏴

One of the most spectacular spots on the Isle of Skye 🌊

Perched on the dramatic western tip of Skye, Neist Point Lighthouse feels like the edge of the world. The rugged cliffs, crashing Atlantic waves and views towards the Outer Hebrides make this one of those places you won’t forget.

📍 Where to park:
There is a free car park at Neist Point, located at Waterstein, Glendale, IV55 8WT. From the car park, you follow the path towards the lighthouse and viewpoint. Neist Point Car Park

🥾 Good to know:
The walk involves steps and uneven ground, so sensible footwear is recommended. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the cliffs and scenery rather than rushing straight to the lighthouse.

🌅 Best time to visit:
Sunset is particularly spectacular, with the evening light illuminating the cliffs and sea. It can be windy and the weather on Skye changes quickly, so bring a waterproof layer even when the forecast looks promising.

👀 Keep an eye out for wildlife too — the waters around Neist Point are known for sightings of dolphins, porpoises, seals and, occasionally, whales.

🍕 If you’re a pizza lover in Aberdeenshire, you need to know about this little hidden gem in Kintore!

The Hummingbird has brought back its pizza nights, and they’re serving up wood-fired pizzas just two nights a week, from 4 till 7pm.

We went along to try a few for ourselves and ordered the Salami & Pesto, Pepperoni and Margherita, along with their homemade garlic butter pizza bread.

And honestly… everything was delicious! The pizzas had that gorgeous wood-fired crust, loads of flavour, and the garlic bread was the perfect side.

There are seven pizzas to choose from, including Hummingbird Spicy, Crispy BBQ Chicken, Vegetarian and Hawaiian, so there’s something for everyone.

🇫🇷 When France meets Aberdeenshire… 🇫🇷

A new coffee stop right next to one of our favourite walks — and safe to say, the coffee did not disappoint! ☕️

As sooo many of you will know, I’m forever posting about Ley Woods at Crathes because it’s probably my favourite place to walk Bobby. This time we took Mila too for her first little walk around the grounds… and let’s just say she had A LOT to say about it! 😂🐾

After our walk, I popped over to the new Maison Castanié at Milton of Crathes and instantly knew it was going to be my kind of place.

Knowing we visit Paris every year, I’m always drawn to anything that brings a little bit of that French feeling home — and this really does feel like a little slice of France in the heart of Royal Deeside. 🇫🇷

Tucked away in a steading at Milton of Crathes, you can stop for coffee, pick up a jambon beurre, have a wander around the shop or, when the weather is good, sit outside by the burn overlooking the River Dee.

I only stopped for a quick coffee after the dog walk this time, but I already can’t wait to go back when the kids are back at school for a very French lunch date. 🥖☕️🤍

🌿🏔️ A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Trossachs 🏔️🌿

The John Ruskin Viewpoint at Brig o’ Turk, Callander, is a beautiful spot where nature, history and breathtaking scenery come together. 💚

The peaceful viewpoint looks across the stunning Glen Finglas landscape — an area that inspired the famous Victorian writer and art critic John Ruskin, who admired the wild beauty of Scotland’s countryside.

🥾 The Walk

Starting from Dam Road Car Park, Finglas Road, Brig o’ Turk, Callander, FK17 8HS, this scenic circular walk is around 3 miles (5 km) and takes approximately 1.5–2 hours, depending on stops to enjoy the scenery and take photos.

The route winds through woodland and open countryside, passing the Glen Finglas waterfall and dam before reaching the viewpoint. There are some gentle climbs along the way, but the spectacular views make every step worthwhile. 📸🏞️

The sound of rushing water, peaceful woodland paths and mountain views make this a truly special corner of the Trossachs. 🌲💧

✨ A perfect place for fresh air, a quiet escape, and a view that feels like Scotland at its very best.

🍔 Did someone say Humble Burger?

A delicious and tasty spot to try, serving up Seattle-inspired Scottish street food and some of the best smash burgers in Moray! 🍔🔥

One issue though… what are you going to try? 🤔

We opted for three absolute belters:

🐷 The Notorious P.I.G — £12.50
Double smash, BBQ pulled pork, cheese, crispy onions, lettuce, apple sauce and mayo. A proper loaded burger packed full of flavour!

🔥 The Big Yin — £12.40
Double smash, haggis, American cheese, bacon, gherkins and peppercorn sauce. A Scottish twist on a smash burger and a serious handful!

🧀 The Plain Jane — £9.50
Double smash with American cheese and cheddar. Keeping it simple, cheesy and absolutely delicious!

And let me tell you… these burgers are STACKED! 🤤

Generously filled with toppings that are oozing out with every bite, making this one seriously messy but very tasty experience!

☕️💗 A little Fat Batch treat in Aberdeen! 🍫🍪

We popped into Fat Batch and decided to make a proper afternoon of it — two coffees and the Milky Way Brookie, because why not? 😍

We tried the iced can latte, and it was such a delicious treat! The coffee was smooth, creamy and refreshing, and we absolutely loved the idea of serving it in a can — such a cool and fun concept that makes the whole experience feel a little different. 🧊☕️

And then there was the Milky Way Brookie… 🤤🍫 If you love that combination of a rich, chocolatey brownie and a soft, indulgent cookie, this is definitely one to try. It was the perfect sweet treat alongside the coffee and made for such a lovely little coffee-and-cake stop.

We really loved the whole vibe of Fat Batch — colourful, playful and all about making coffee and sweet treats feel fun. It’s the kind of place where you can pop in for a quick coffee but somehow end up leaving with a bake (or two!) as well. 😂💕

Two coffees + a Milky Way Brookie = a very good decision in our books! ✨

If you’re in Aberdeen and looking for somewhere a little different for your coffee fix and something sweet, definitely add Fat Batch to your list. 🐷☕️🍪

🌅 Hackley Bay, Aberdeenshire 🌊

One of those hidden little beaches that feels like a secret tucked away along the Aberdeenshire coast. It’s the perfect spot to wander, switch off and just enjoy the peace and quiet.

We love coming here for an early morning walk, especially when we can catch the sunrise. Watching the sky slowly change, listening to the waves and seeing the first light hit the cliffs makes the walk down here feel completely worth it. 🤍

It’s one of mine and Bobby’s favourite walks, and one of the things we love most is how quiet it always seems to be. Even on a beautiful morning, you can often have the beach almost completely to yourself — just you, the sea and the sound of nature.

A little hidden gem that never gets old. 🌅🐾
