WRC STARS SET FOR SCOTLAND AUDITION
With Rally Scotland confirmed to return to the FIA World Rally Championship calendar in 2027, this August's Grampian Forest Rally is set to provide a valuable opportunity for several WRC crews to gain experience of Scottish gravel roads ahead of next season.
The British Rally Championship round, based in Banchory, has already attracted a number of current World Rally Championship competitors in Rally2 machinery, underlining the growing significance of the event.
As we previously reported, current WRC championship leaders Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin will be among the headline names competing in the event, while M-Sport Ford World Rally Team are also expected to field at least two crews.
While the Grampian Forest Rally has long been recognised as one of Britain's premier gravel rallies, confirmation of Rally Scotland's return to the world championship has added further importance to the event.
For crews preparing for next year's WRC visit, the rally offers an opportunity to experience Scottish conditions, gather valuable data and build knowledge of the type of roads they could encounter when the championship returns.
