Variable, often large amounts of cloud and mostly dry, although isolated showers may move north later. Isolated mist or fog patches also possible where any cloud breaks linger. Mild. Minimum temperature 12°C.

Thursday

Variable often large amounts of cloud but some brighter spells likely. Mostly dry although a few showers possible at times. Generally lighter winds. Very mild. Maximum temperature 17°C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday

Often cloudy with drier spells, although scattered showers likely during Friday into Saturday morning. Winds often light but fresher later Sunday. Trending less mild, with some cooler nights.

Sizewell C has succeeded in raising finance from private investors - meaning full-scale construction can go ahead.

Energy secretary Ed Miliband said the project reaching financial close was a major milestone in delivering our new golden age of nuclear.

Private investment was starting to flow into the Suffolk nuclear project, he said, with a strong investment grade credit rating.

£5bn of debt has been raised through a Bpifrance export credit facility and a £500 million Working Capital Facility.

Cloud thickening through the evening, with an increased chance rain, clearing north later. Eastern parts drier after midnight, but the chance of drizzle in the west. Breezy, but staying mild. Minimum temperature 12°C.

Wednesday

Another day with large amounts of cloud, but perhaps a few more brighter or sunny spells developing. Most parts staying dry, and feeling very mild despite the strong breeze. Maximum temperature 17°C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday

Rather cloudy and mild Thursday and Friday, with occasional showers and drier intervals. Some sunny spells possible. Largely fine Saturday with sunny spells and perhaps isolated showers. Winds becoming light.

Suffolk County Council has submitted a full planning application for a major package of highway improvements worth £63 million on the A12 between Seven Hills Junction in Ipswich and Woods Lane north of Woodbridge.

The council says the scheme aims to enhance transport connectivity, safety and accessibility for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and public transport passengers along the 6.8-mile stretch of road.

Tonight

Mostly dry with some clear spells, but thicker cloud at times in the west. Breezy, especially on coasts. Mild overnight. Minimum temperature 10°C.

Tuesday

Dry with brighter spells for much of the day. Cloud thickening from the west, with rain later, perhaps heavy at times. Wind strengthening later. Maximum temperature 15°C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday

Remaining unsettled, with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. Occasionally breezy. Mostly mild, although cool temperatures are possible on Thursday night.
