Say hello to Mark:

Hi, I’m Mark from Suffolk here in the UK. my love for radio started in my teenage years when I joined as a volunteer at Hospital Radio in Ipswich. Since then I have worked at a number of radio stations across the country including SGR FM, Heart, Essex FM, broadland, Galaxy, GenX, And I have covered at a number of other commercial radio stations over the years.

I have been part of the Happy Hits family from fairly early on and despite a break I have been on the station for more than 3 years. Happy Hits is unique as we are truly a family and we get on so well despite rarely all meeting up as we present from all corners of the world it feels like we are the best of friends.

When I’m not behind the microphone, I’m a watch manager with 20 years service in the fire and rescue service serving in London and Suffolk.

Music wise, my taste is pretty eclectic. I love pretty much anything from the 80s 90s noughties and Current. Pop music country dance and house on my go to but I love a bit of rock and a bit of reggae too.

📅 Remembrance Sunday events in Ipswich – Sunday 9 November

👀 Watch the Parade
Veterans, civic leaders, armed forces, cadets, and community organisations will all take part. The parade begins at 10:15am from Elm Street, marching through the town centre to the park.
Route: Elm Street → Museum Street → Westgate Street → Tavern Street → Northgate Street → Soane Street.

🕙 Remembrance Sunday Service starts at 10:50am
Join us at the Cenotaph in Christchurch Park for Ipswich’s annual Service of Remembrance Sunday Service, organised by the Royal British Legion and Ipswich Borough Council.
Mayor of Ipswich Stefan Long and Lady Clare Euston, Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, will take the salute at the March Past.

Not long until our Christmas Light Switch On! 🎄

The town is getting festive in preparation for our Light Switch - On on Sunday 16th November.

From 4pm to 7.30pm in the heart of Ipswich on the Cornhill, this year’s celebration promises to be bigger and brighter than ever with a line up of live entertainment for all the family to enjoy.✨

We are pleased to announce that GenX Radio Suffolk will lead the festivities as Official Media Partners for the event. 🙌
