NYE at Happy Hits Radio UK: Because staying in is the new going out! 🥂📻

​Let’s be real—some of us want to party like it’s 1999, and some of us want to be in pyjamas by 9 PM. Luckily, we’ve got a schedule that caters to both the party animals and the "I'm just staying up for the fireworks" crowd.

​🗓️ The "Farewell 2025" Schedule:
​3 PM – 7 PM: Courtney hosting Divetime.
The perfect soundtrack for your final 2025 supermarket dash. Courtney will be providing the vibes while you try to remember where you put the party poppers.

​7 PM – 10 PM: The Professor & Vincent.
The "Early Bird Special!" If you plan on being fast asleep by the time the clock strikes midnight, this is your official New Year's party. Get all the energy, all the hits, and none of the next-day hangover. We’ll celebrate early so you can hit the hay by 10:15.

Fantastic opening night mingling with the cast of this years Christmas 🎄 Panto at the stunningly refurbished Ipswich Regent Theatre 🎭

It was wonderful to be invited along to the press night and chat to the cast anout their roles in the performance and of course their plans for Christmas. You can catch my full review of this years on my show this afternoon from 4pm on GenX Radio Suffolk .. but here are a few personal highlights!

- Mike McClean returns for his 10th consecutive year in the regent panto playing Buttons and what a performance it was bringing endless laughs!

- Search for a star winner Lucy Roper smashed her star role as Cinderella. Her performance as bright and flamboyant as her costumes 👯‍♀️

- Gavin and Peter return by popular demand as the Ugly Sisters and with it all the innuendos, flirtations, and laughs you would expect from this pair!!

If you have tickets 🎫 you’re in for a treat, if not worth getting tickets while you can for a guaranteed night of festive fun for all the family.

What an afternoon! The GenX Radio Suffolk team were proud to join and the whole of to officially turn on Christmas 🎄 on the Cornhill this afternoon with local star Adam Thomas, the cast of Cinderella at this years festive panto at the Ipswich Regent and a host of acts… Thank you for making the evening so magical that even Santa and Mrs Claus 🤶 made an appearance.

Well this is me…

Say hello to Mark:

Hi, I’m Mark from Suffolk here in the UK. my love for radio started in my teenage years when I joined as a volunteer at Hospital Radio in Ipswich. Since then I have worked at a number of radio stations across the country including SGR FM, Heart, Essex FM, broadland, Galaxy, GenX, And I have covered at a number of other commercial radio stations over the years.

I have been part of the Happy Hits family from fairly early on and despite a break I have been on the station for more than 3 years. Happy Hits is unique as we are truly a family and we get on so well despite rarely all meeting up as we present from all corners of the world it feels like we are the best of friends.

When I’m not behind the microphone, I’m a watch manager with 20 years service in the fire and rescue service serving in London and Suffolk.

Music wise, my taste is pretty eclectic. I love pretty much anything from the 80s 90s noughties and Current. Pop music country dance and house on my go to but I love a bit of rock and a bit of reggae too.
