Chamber Music Scotland is delighted to announce Sgo as our new Ensemble in Residence 2025/26 📣

Sgo is a musical partnership between sisters Steaph Chaimbeul and Ciorstaidh Chaimbeul both originally from the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The duo explore the expressive capabilities of the harp and accordion and create original compositions for this unique ensemble. As classically trained musicians and composers, their music is inspired by a connection to their heritage, and a shared musical language. Their current project takes inspiration from their Gaelic upbringing and identity, blending chamber music, sound design and storytelling. Their music seeks to push the boundaries of chamber music, bringing classical music to new audiences.

Together, they have performed across the UK and internationally, including appearances at Blas Festival PanCeltic Festival, HebCelt Festival, and now where they both live and work in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Sgo says “We are delighted to have been selected as Chamber Music Scotland’s Ensemble in Residence. We’re really looking forward to sharing our new music with communities across Scotland. We’re currently living in Denmark, and it means a lot to have this connection back home. Chamber Music Scotland is doing vital work to support musicians and bring people together through music, and we’re so excited to be part of such a brilliant organisation.”
