🐾 And so it begins… 🥹🏴
There are some moments when you’ve spent so long working towards something that, when it finally arrives, it’s almost impossible to put into words how you feel.
This is one of those moments.
This morning, Olympic and I stood here in Drymen, right at the start of the Rob Roy Way… and suddenly it all feels very real. 🥹
96 miles of Scottish countryside.
7 days.
Wild camping along the way.
And then, when our feet have already had enough… Ben Nevis. ⛰️
After everything it has taken to get here, especially recovering from my Achilles injury, there have been moments when I honestly wondered whether we would make it to this starting point.
But we did. ❤️
And standing here with my little adventure buddy beside me, looking at that sign saying “Start of the Rob Roy Way”, I felt incredibly emotional.
Olympic has no idea what lies ahead. She just knows we’re together, there are smells to investigate and adventures to be had. 😂🐾
For me, this journey is about so much more than walking 96 miles. It’s about proving that sometimes, even when things knock you sideways, you can keep putting one foot in front of the other… until eventually you find yourself standing exactly where you dreamed you would be.
So here we go.
Day 1. Drymen → wherever the trail takes us. 🥾🐾
Wish us luck… we’re off! ❤️
And, as always, we’re doing this for the dogs. 🐶❤️
Our Soi Dog Foundation fundraiser and our fundraiser to help with our adventure expenses are both pinned at the top of my profile. If you’d like to support us, just click on the photo at the top of my page and it will take you through to the fundraiser.
96 miles. 7 days. One very determined human and one little rescue dog.
Let the adventure begin. 🐾🏴
