Winner! Pieces of Us took home the award for Best International Screenplay last night at the Festival de Cine Antigua in Guatemala.
The annual film festival was attended by filmmakers from across Latin America as well as artists from around the globe, and broadcast on local TV.
The Best International Screenplay Award recognises a script written by a writer from outside Latin America. Pieces of Us screenwriter attended the festival’s closing gala to accept the award. In his acceptance speech, which was graciously translated into Spanish by festival director Eric Jimenez, Tim thanked the cast and crew of Pieces of Us, with whom he “shares the honour”, giving a special shout-out to “mi hermano” for “turning this screenplay into a beautiful, moving film.”
The event provided a beautiful and culturally rich glimpse into Latin American filmmaking, and it was truly an honour to share this story with this amazing part of the world. Thank you to the Antigua Film Festival for this recognition.
