2024 🤩

This year has been another great year of growth and achievement as a tennis coach and player, with lots of highlights to be proud of 💪

This year saw my focus and buzz shift towards performance coaching! I’ve really enjoyed working closely with a numerous amount of County & Regional level juniors, seeing them develop and thrive in competition.

My highlights for this year has been:
- Captaining the County 10&U Boys team to 1st place in County Cup and taking them to the National South Finals in Bromley
- Captaining the County 8&U Boys & Girls teams to 2nd place in County Cup
- Coached my second County Champion in 9&U’s and Runner Up in 10&Us
- Coached my first player to be invited to South West 9&U Regional Training
- Finished the year with a positive W/L ratio (27W 21L) whilst upping the tournament level
- Defending the club Men’s Singles & Men’s Doubles titles for the 4th year in a row
-Taking our SDTC Juniors on Tour to Penzance
- Attending a Challenger Tour 500 in Mallorca meeting Jules Marie
- Came Runner Up in a Pickleball Event with Dan Goodman, despite only picking up the sport 2 weeks before
- Getting back into running to improving fitness and wellbeing off the court

I look forward to continue to learn and grow as a coach and player in 2025! Here’s to working hard and achieving our goals 🥂

10U South Finals 2024

Had such a pleasure Captaining Devon’s 10U Team at the South Finals at Bromley on the weekend!

The boys were brilliant and really raised their level to compete with some of the best players in the UK, taking lots of lessons and experience away with them. Well done Toto, Robin, Sammy, Rufus & Sam 👏

On a personal note, i feel extremely lucky to be exposed to that level of environment and players at this stage in my coaching career. I’ve learnt so much towards what it takes to compete and coach at that level, and can’t wait to start working towards that with the players at my club and within county sessions 💪 inspired would be an understatement 😂 i already can’t wait till next year 🤗

It was such a pleasure to Captain this awesome team today! All the boys showed incredible grit and resilience to come from 0-3 down to take the win today and put us through to the South Area Finals 👏

Definitely up there as one of my favourite experiences as a coach to date!

EPIC COMEBACK FOR DEVON 10U BOYS - WINNERS 🥇👏

Today Devon 10U Boys took on Avon to decide the division winners.

Avon came out very strong in the singles winning 3 out of the 4 rubbers. Sammy narrowly missed out in a match tiebreak after showing fight to get back into the match. Tudor, though, fought off tough resistance from the Avon No 1 to ensure Devon were still in with a chance.

The boys understood the mission at hand, they needed to win both doubles to take it to a shootout. Sammy & Robin showed great spirit to fight off an Avon come back to win their doubles 4-0 1-4 10-6, keeping hopes alive. Tudor & Rufus similarly started strong and then managed to save two match points in a match tiebreak to win 4-1 2-4 12-10 and take the match to a shootout!!

Tudor & Sammy were put forward and coped incredibly well to not let the pressure of the situation overwhelm them. They won it 10-7 to secure an incredible victory for Devon!!!! 💪

Well done Tudor, Rufus, Robin, Sammy, Pranav (Sam) and Team Captain Liam!

This takes the team forward to the South Finals in 3 weeks time 👏
