Beat Box Productions Original compositions, productions and CDs for primary schools and children of all ages! The Beat Box are Laura Hodge and Kevin Guthrie.

Kev and Laura met at Beath High School where they both studied music, Kev focussing on drums and percussion while Laura played piano and studied singing. Laura went on to study for a B.Ed in Music and Kevin chose to focus on historical studies. Almost 20 years later they joined forces again pulling together their different talents to create music education company, The Beat Box!

Well, that was a busy one!

We've taught in seven schools this week, across all stages, teaching approximately 500 pupils. We covered two pantomimes, a history show and a nativity, taught 21 songs, recorded three songs and three videos. I think it's safe to say we've earned our weekend!

Day one done, and it’s been rather busy!

Three different groups of children with three different productions - and a very quick lunch break 😆, but it’s good to be back!

This week we’ve got nine different groups with a variety of history shows, nativities and pantos! We’ll be needing another holiday by Friday 😆

It’s a wrap, term one done ✔️

We’ve loved this term working with Longforgan, St Madoes and Inchture in Perth and Kinross, and Lumphinnans, Kelty, Foulford and Crossgates in Fife in partnership with YMI to deliver projects to theit P5 pupils. This last week of term we’ve had ten performances with over 300 children participating over the week, and it has been so enjoyable. Hearing our songs being performed with such enthusiasm is such a great feeling , and knowing how much the children get out of the experience is even better 🎶💕🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Crossgates P5, you were simply fabulous today. Every single one of you sang your hearts out and worked your socks off. We can’t tell you how proud we are of our Foulford Primary pupils today. They’ve worked so hard to pull together a perfect performance for their peers and their parents, and today really was outstanding. As their headteacher said, music is one of the best ways to learn any subject. The boys and girls not only covered expressive arts with this project, as well as academic subjects, but they also learned resilience, teamwork and all round awesomeness!

Another set of superstar performers today! It was the turn of Lumphinnans Primary today and they smashed it! The smiles on their faces when they heard the audience applaud their efforts makes all the hard work worthwhile.
