Sorry we’ve been quiet — we’ve been busy.
A recent refurbishment where we altered the original early 20th century lead soil stack, lead welding new branch fittings into the existing pipework to suit the revised internal layout.
Lead of this age isn’t something we come across every day. The original stack is all wiped joints — a trade that’s all but died out — so it was a case of welding new work into it without disturbing what was already there. Rather than stripping it out for plastic, the stack stays as it is.
