I was so delighted and excited to be asked to grade a new film from Land and Sky Media that is about to have its world premiere at the Kendal Mountain Festival. Following in the footsteps of Vittorio Sella, the pioneer who took the very first photograph of Mount Everest back in 1899, a small expedition sets out to try and re-create the iconic photograph using a replica large format camera. The journey takes them from Kendal in The Lake District to the the dusty archives of the Alpine Club in London, then up to Scotland, to Glasgow and then the rugged slopes of Glencoe. They journey to Italy and then the long trek to Nepal where they try to locate the exact spot that Sella stood on back in 1899. What could possibly go wrong?
