New this month: 👇

Discover the Two Moors Way, a 188km (117-mile) long-distance walk traversing the breadth of England’s southwest peninsula. Known as Devon’s Coast to Coast walk, this remarkable route combines the well-established path between Ivybridge and Lynmouth with the Erme–Plym Trail, beginning (or ending) at Wembury Bay on the dramatic South Devon coast.

Trekking in the Bernese Oberland brings together five outstanding multi-day treks in the Swiss Alps, offering over a month of walking in total. Routes range from classic circuits beneath the great north faces to quieter western ranges and remote high passes.

Experience the Lake District’s most rewarding mountain days with Best Walks in the Lake District, an inspirational, large-format collection of 50 outstanding walks across the region’s fells. From famous summits such as Scafell Pike and Helvellyn to quieter and lesser-known hills, each route offers a challenging and memorable day exploring the dramatic landscapes of the Lake District National Park.

The Dolomites are often cited as the most dramatic and beautiful mountains in the world, and the splendour of the scenery is undeniable. The explosive shapes of the peaks and ridgelines, the ever-changing colours of the rock, the stunning contrast between seasons — these are just some of the factors that make this UNESCO World Heritage range stand apart from its Alpine counterparts.

A via ferrata (literally "iron way") is a mountain route protected by a series of fixed steel cables, metal stemples (rungs), pegs, and ladders bolted to the rock. The cables allow climbers to progress through terrain that would otherwise require full rock climbing technique by clipping a specialised via ferrata lanyard to the wire as they climb. This makes dramatic mountain routes accessible to anyone with a reasonable level of fitness, a head for heights, and the right equipment.

At 630 miles from Minehead to Poole Harbour, the South West Coast Path is one of Britain's finest long-distance walks, taking in some of the country's most dramatic coastline. You can experience Exmoor's rugged cliffs, the granite headlands of Cornwall, Land's End, the Lizard, Plymouth Sound, and the Jurassic Coast along the way.

Most people return to it over several years, tackling a week or long weekend at a time and working through sections gradually. The trail naturally divides into four distinct sections, each with its own character and taking around two weeks: Minehead to Padstow, Padstow to Land's End, Land's End to Plymouth, and Plymouth to Poole.
