Timeless Homage

Few figures have crossed the screen with the power and impact of Brigitte Bardot.
Actress, muse, cultural disruptor — she transformed cinema and challenged conventions, becoming a symbol of artistic freedom and individuality.

Her legacy lives on not only in her films, but in the way cinema dares to evolve.

With respect and admiration,
Crossing The Screen Team

Wishing you a joyful and relaxing festive season from all of us at Crossing The Screen!

This year, we’ve shared stories, welcomed filmmakers, hosted community screenings and built new connections across Eastbourne and beyond. Whether you joined us in the cinema or supported from afar, thank you for being part of it.

We’re off for a little festive rest. In 2026, we return with the 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival and a packed programme of screenings and events. It’s going to be a good one.

Until then, stay cosy, stay curious and enjoy a few great films.

Today is International Human Rights Day.

Film has the power to make us see, feel and understand; to step into someone else’s world, even for a moment.

We’re proud to have shared stories like Home (dir. Daniel Mulloy, 2016), which remind us that empathy and humanity are at the heart of cinema.

A brilliant evening at .bay with Keeping Mum on screen and curry on the table. Big thanks to everyone who came along: intimate vibes, proper laughs, and seriously good food.

These Film & Dinner Nights help raise funds for the 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival, and your support means a lot. 💛

If you didn’t make it this time, keep your eyes peeled for more community cinema events popping up at venues near you. 🎬

🎙️ Last Wednesday, our Festival Director Domenico Della Valle joined Raph’s Film Show on Eastbourne Youth Radio, the student-run station from East Sussex College.

They talked about film, creativity and opportunities for young people in Eastbourne — the perfect mix of community and cinema.

Huge thanks to Raph, the East Sussex College team and everyone at EYR for the warm welcome. 🧡

We’re on air tomorrow morning!

Our festival director Domenico Della Valle will be joining Eastbourne Youth Radio (87.7FM) for Raph’s Film Show from 09:00–10:00, hosted by East Sussex College students.

He’ll be chatting about film in Eastbourne and across the UK, how young people can get involved in the creative industries, and what’s coming up with the Eastbourne International Film Festival.

Tune in for an inspiring conversation about film, opportunity and community. 🎬

For nearly ten years, this festival has been powered by people — the volunteers, filmmakers and audiences who’ve turned film screenings into friendships and stories into memories.

From our first events back in 2016 to our community cinema in 2025, Crossing The Screen has always been about connection, creativity and belonging. 🧡

As we approach the 10th Eastbourne International Film Festival in 2026, we want to celebrate the faces and moments that have shaped our journey so far.

👉 Swipe through this little time capsule, and if you spot yourself (or someone you know!), tag them below.

What’s your favourite memory from a past festival or screening? We’d love to hear it in the comments. 🎬
