About Pilates with Grace Rose
I am a fully qualified Body Control Pilates trained teacher and a member of the Body Control Pilates Association. Since qualifying I have continued my training with Master Teachers from the UK and America. I am qualified to teach from beginner to advanced level and am currently undergoing my training to become a Matwork Master. I also hold specific qualifications for training Runners and Dancers.
I have always loved movement of all forms. I have danced since the age of four and achieved honours in my exams. I was initially introduced to Pilates through dance training. In 2007 I had a back injury and was recommended Pilates by my physio. I have never looked back and now practise daily to ensure my body is functioning well so I can continue to do all the wonderful things like ballet and handstands! Joseph Pilates said if your spine is stiff at 30 you are old but if it is flexible at 60 you are young.
I trained with Body Control Pilates due to their outstanding reputation. The course is the most comprehensive of its kind in Europe and is regarded as a benchmark for Pilates teaching of the highest quality. As our class sizes are small we are able to personally adapt exercises for your needs. Classes are suitable for beginners, those recovering from injury or general back pain.
I like to challenge my students and aim to progress the level each week. I also love to add elements of my dance training and stretches for fun and mobility. Each move is executed with precision to ensure you are working your muscles as efficiently as possible. Pilates can help you achieve a more flexible, leaner and stronger body. As your body is better aligned you will be less prone to injury and aches will decrease.
