A new Mont Bell store has opened up in an old bank in Keswick. Plenty on offer and I had no idea the brand made so many different types of outdoor gear. Worth checking out the next time you’re in Keswick and the changing rooms are in the old bank vault.

Badrallach Campsite is a great little base for anyone wanting to hike up An Teallach. There’s a bothy, tent pitches, van pitches with electric hookup, plus a kitchen and showers. A footpath at the bottom of the site takes you to Loch Broom for sunset views.

PS. My Vango Sigma 300 is now pretty tired after 16 years of use as my ‘base camp’ tent. Time to pick a new one for the rest of the summer.

I've been wearing these Ultra Glide II's over the past five weeks 🙌 Super comfortable and they have a lot of cushioning. The lace is a bit awkward to tuck away and I'm not keen on the colour schemes on offer, but they feel amazing to wear.

Wore the Ultra Glides for a paraglide too 🪂

This has been a winning combination of socks and shoes for me 🙌

Salomon X ULTRA 04's paired with Darn Tough 1/4 socks (midweight with cushion).

The quarter length sock means you're reducing the amount of coverage over your leg (so you stay cool). And the cushion gives you just enough comfort for a long day of hiking without making you overheat.

I cannot fault the X ULTRA 04s (Gore-tex lining too) - I own two pairs and considering buying more.
