Announcement-only posts get ignored on Facebook.

It feels productive to keep the page updated. But if you scroll back through your last few posts, do you see any comments or shares? Just putting out news or updates doesn’t give people a reason to care.

The posts that earn clicks or replies usually tell a story: a quick before-and-after, a customer win, even a lesson learned from a mistake. Something that makes people feel included, not just informed.

If nobody is reacting, try swapping the next announcement for a short story from your last job. See what happens.

What’s one small story you could share this week?

Ever let a five-star review slip by with just a thank you?

It happens. You spot a brilliant bit of feedback and reply with a quick ‘cheers’, then move on. But that praise can do a lot more if you squeeze it for ideas.

Try this next time:
1. Pull a short quote for a post, let their words speak for you.
2. Turn the full review into a simple graphic (photo of the job, or even just your coffee table if you’re short on images).
3. Use the story behind the review as a mini case study: what did you solve for them?

One review, three bits of content. You’ll show proof, personality and the kind of detail people trust.

How do you usually share your reviews? Might be worth getting more from the next one.

Now 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘳𝘦 doing it again with AI.

Every generation seems to believe the technology it grew up with is “normal” and the next big change has gone too far.

Sometimes the sceptics even have a point, but history tells us something important - new technology doesn’t wait for everyone to be comfortable with it.

AI is already changing how businesses market, sell, communicate and operate. The question isn’t really whether you like AI, it’s whether your competitors learn how to use it before you do.

Announcement-only posts rarely get anyone talking.

Scroll through your last few posts. If most of them are updates like 'We're closed on Friday' or 'New hours', you’re not alone. Most business pages end up looking like noticeboards for staff, not customers.

People don’t come to Facebook to read opening times. If you want clicks or comments, you need to give a reason for someone to care. Share a quick story from the week, a photo of the team, or ask a question that makes people stop for a second. The best posts feel like a nudge into a conversation, not a memo nobody asked for.

Next time you post, try swapping an announcement for a photo and a short line about what’s happening behind the scenes. Watch the difference in how people react.

What sort of post gets you actually clicking or commenting? Try one of those this week.

How much do you squeeze out of a five-star review?

Most of us post a great review once, smile, and get on with the next job. But that single share is just the start.

A real bit of praise can do more, if you split it up. Here’s a simple way:

1. Post a photo of the handwritten review, mug of tea in shot. Simple, honest, gets attention.
2. Turn the kind words into a new post, but highlight a single detail. Maybe they loved your quick response, talk about why that matters.
3. Share a behind-the-scenes of the job itself, with a line to say, “Here’s what went into earning that review.”

You don’t need to find more time, just make one great bit of feedback work harder.

Got a review you’d forgotten about? See how many ways you can use it this week.

AI-driven platforms like Anthropic and ChatGPT ear evaluating embedding subtle watermarks in their generated content. This update comes in response to new EU regulations that demand higher transparency from AI systems, making it easier for people to identify whether content was created by a human or an algorithm.

Why is this important? Watermarking plays a crucial role in fostering trust, deterring misinformation, and meeting emerging legal requirements. For businesses and content creators, it means updating your approach to clearly signal when content originates from AI, safeguarding your brand’s integrity and your audience’s trust.

As watermarking becomes the norm, it’s vital to understand its effects on how your content is distributed and perceived, particularly in tightly regulated markets such as the EU. Staying ahead of these developments ensures your digital communication remains compliant and transparent.

Ever wonder why your announcements get silence instead of clicks?

Another update about opening hours. Another post about a new service. Only a couple of likes, and it’s always the same two people.

Here’s the truth: most announcements get ignored because they don’t ask anything of your audience. No reason to join in. No spark. It’s not that people aren’t interested, they just scroll past because it doesn’t feel like it’s for them.

Try this next time. Instead of just stating the news, put your customer into the story. Ask a question, show a customer using your service, or share a story from your day. Give them a reason to stop and react, not just read and move on.

If you want people to care, make them part of it.

That five-star review you just got is worth more than a thank you reply.

Quick win for busy owners: squeeze extra value from every glowing review.

1. Screenshot and share it straight to your feed, people trust real words from real customers. 2. Pull out the best one-liner and pop it on a photo or your homepage. 3. Use it for a 'thanks to our lovely customers' post next week when you’re short on time.

Each review can fill your content calendar for days, not just minutes. No extra effort needed.

How are you using your latest review? If it’s just sitting on Google, you’re leaving goodwill on the table.

Announcement-only posts rarely get any clicks or comments.

It's easy to put out another 'We're at this event' or 'We're hiring' update. But most people scroll straight past. The truth: people don't engage with plain announcements unless there's something in it for them, or a reason to care.

What actually gets attention? Posts that tell a story. Not a fairytale, just a real bit of customer life. Like a quick before-and-after, or a happy review with a photo. Give people a reason to stop, and they'll do more than just scroll.

If your updates feel invisible, try swapping one simple notice for a real customer win. You'll see the difference.

What's one customer story you could tell this week?
