To us, a pub is the beating heart of a village, town, or city.
It’s more than just a place to have a drink — it’s where stories are told, friendships are built, laughter is shared, and communities come together.

A good pub can be a second home. It can be a place of celebration, comfort, tradition, and familiarity. For some, it’s somewhere to meet friends after work; for others, it’s a lifeline — a place of company, warmth, and conversation, especially for those who may otherwise feel isolated or alone.

Pubs matter. They are woven into the fabric of British life, and every one of them has a character, a history, and a role to play. Some are grand and historic, some are simple and unassuming, but the best of them all share one thing: they make people feel welcome.

It’s about the atmosphere, the people, the pint, the quirks, and the little things that make each one memorable.

Because a pub is never just a pub.
It’s a meeting place, a memory maker, and often the heart of the community.

More needs to be done to protect these places.

This is why we spend our spare time out visiting these wonderful places.

🍺 Local Pub… or Regular Pub? Are They the Same Thing?

Here’s a pub question for you.

Is your local pub the one closest to your house…
Or is it the pub you go to the most?

Because for a lot of people, those two things aren’t the same.

Your local might be the pub two streets away — but maybe the welcome isn’t quite right.

Meanwhile, your regular might be a 10-minute drive away… but the staff know your name, they know your pint, and you feel at home the moment you walk through the door.

For us, that’s often what makes the difference between a pub and your pub.

A true regular spot usually means:
• The welcome feels genuine
• The pint is always right
• You recognise a few faces at the bar
• And you feel comfortable walking in on your own

Sometimes the best pubs aren’t the closest ones… they’re the ones that earn your loyalty.

So we’re curious…

👇 Is your local pub the same as your regular pub?
Or do you travel past your “local” to get to the one you actually love?

Tell us:
🍺 Name your regular pub
📍 Where it is
👍 And why you keep going back

Let’s see which pubs get the most love

🍺 The Pint Glass Score is now live on YouTube.

This short intro video gives a flavour of the kinds of pubs we’ll be visiting and reviewing as the project gets underway.

Across the UK we’ll be visiting pubs and scoring them across 10 pillars of the pub experience to produce one clear score out of 100.

Some pubs will score brilliantly.
Some won’t.

That’s the point.

Have a look at the video below to see some of the pubs we’re likely to be reviewing soon.

If you have a favourite local you think deserves a visit, drop it in the comments and we’ll add it to the list.

A pub is for life, not just for Christmas.

🍺🍺 Hello — we’re The Pint Glass Score.

We independently review and score pubs across the UK.

No freebies.
No paid placements.
No “everyone gets five stars.”

Every pub is visited.
Every score is earned.

Each pub is assessed across 10 clear pillars and given one overall score out of 100 — simple, transparent and fair.

Some pubs will score brilliantly.
Some won’t.

That’s the point.

If a pub gets it right, we’ll shout about it.
If it doesn’t, we’ll explain why — respectfully.

Because when pubs improve, everyone wins.
Communities win. People win.

If you love a proper local, follow along.
If you run a pub… bring your A-game.

Let’s get started.

A pub is for life, not just for Christmas.
