The latest edition has now been published!

Enjoy the summer with this great read. Don't get to top up your sun cream, whilst you are occupied reading all 28 pages of local stories, events coming up for the summer, and maybe a bit of history along the way.

As ever, a big thank you to all our advertisers that support this 100% volunteer support community project. Without their continued support, and the support of all our volunteers and those that contribute articles each month - none of this would exist.

There is always room for new volunteers - whether in a management role, production, editorial, online, and layup. - there is plenty of opportunity for new members. No experience is required for most roles - just enthusiasm.

This is the last edition of the current print year. We now take a break for July and August, and will be back in September.

Well as we roll into a Bank Holiday weekend - what does the weather have instore for us all? Will the recent days of sunshine last, or will it be time for wind and rain?

Have no fear. Take comfort in the pages of the latest edition of The Kibworth & District Chronicle.

I would like to advise that maybe you could listen to our podcast whilst stuck in traffic on the A6 - but we don't have one....yet.

The volunteers are out delivering the free paper edition, and you can also read it in the links below.

Maybe this is the month, you decide you want to become a volunteer - there is a wide range of opportunities. Full training is available, some roles can be done from the comfort of your home.

So enjoy.

Our front cover is sunshine this month, so is our Facebook post - so don't look outside the window (it's a bit chilly)!!

South Leicestershire is a beautiful part of the world, and spring is that time of the year where we see growth all around us. Blossom on the trees, lambs in the fields and the lawns are getting their first cuts.

So find some time to read this great edition, and enjoy.

As ever, The Chronicle is always on the look for out for more volunteers. Whether you fancy delivering The Chronicle, or helping to pull the edition together each month (print or the web version) then drop us a message.

Love to everybody!

Another edition has rolled off the press, and as always our volunteers are preparing to deliver another great edition through the letterbox.

You can also read this edition online, alongside almost half our archive. You can read the 1st edition ever published in 1978 through to 2010.

The remaining editions will be archived as soon as possible.

But there is more. Are you local to the Kibworth area and do you fancy joining as a volunteer? Can you spare a few hours each month to help publish our printed articles online? Full training will be given. Ideally you have your own laptop, and have some computer experience. This is a great opportunity to support your local community, and add something very interesting to your CV! Drop us a message if you are interested

So the last edition of 2024 has been published. From everyone at the Kibworth & District Chronicle we wish all of our community the best festive joy for Christmas.

We hope that you all get to enjoy this time of the year with your friends and family, and that you spare some time to remember that there are those less fortunate than ourselves.

For some Christmas can be a struggle, financially or emotionally. So check in on your neighbours, call that friend that you haven't spoken to in a while, hug the kids for just that extra second longer.

We hope you enjoy your turkey, nut roast, pizza, or pub lunch on the big day, and by the time you've given up on the New Years Resolution the next edition of the Chronicle will be on it's way.😀

Maybe it might even snow for Christmas - wouldn't that be a thing.

The November edition has now been published, and is out for distribution.

The Chronicle has been recording our local history since 1978.

This edition joins that archive recording the people, events, joy and sadness, society's changes and some very dodgy haircuts.

You can contribute to this rich history. You can contribute articles about your local community group, sports club, topics of interest etc.

You can also contribute your time. The Chronicle is 100% volunteer based. Experience is not always necessary. Community spirit is a must.
Whether it's helping with the production of the monthly editions, delivering editions in your local area, working on our social media accounts, or a more management or editorial role - please get in touch, and we can discuss it further.

It's never been easier to enjoy the Chronicle.
Wait for the clatter of your letter box (if you are lucky enough to live in beautiful South Leicestershire).
Click on the link below in comments and read a .pdf version of the Chronicle.
