Exciting news.....we have now officially teamed up with the wonderful Tacos and Flipflops here at Socks On Records. Now our official food supplier. McDonalds were begging to be part of it but we told them to shove it up their McArses.

If you don't know Tacos and Flipflops have a really cool little restaurant on Godric Square in Peterborough and will often be caught out and about doing pop up restaurants at events across the city. We have had them feeding the masses at quite a few of our events at Ostrich Inn Peterborough.

They hand craft the best Mexican inspired vegan food you'll ever get your lips around. The Burritos are a Socks On favourite.

The collaboration means they will continue to provide food at our events, both on site and the famous Burrito drops, Socks On plan to hold small acoustic nights and social events in their restaurant and whenever you pop into their place to eat you will start to see Socks On flyers and other goodies around the place.

The Socks On community has just become even tastier than ever.

Our boys in A Great Notion are flying the Socks On flag (not literally, they refused to take it) at Manchester Punk Festival on Sunday. Make sure you check them out. Officially the greatest band to ever come out of Peterborough and the world.

Last night in Stamford was better than mega. A big turnabout for what turned out to be one of our favourite line ups so far. A mix of hip hop,rap and alt/DIY/punk.

Biggest thanks to MOSKITO CLUB BRAT S23 and Archer music for being the nicest humans and seriously impressive artists and performers.

Mama Liz's Bar / Restaurant Drinks & Soulfood / Stamford UK - Est 2008 were amazing hosts as always and we will be announcing more here soon.

Thank you to everyone who came along last night. This wouldn’t work without people coming through the doors and we had a great big crowd last night which means we can pay the artists what they deserve.

Socks On is a not for profit venture, I know we had a few disgruntled people come through the doors who didn’t expect to pay as they were with the band in some shape or form however without this ticket money we can’t give the venues and artists what they deserve for all their hard work. I know some people might find this an unusual approach but we value artists recieiving what they deserve over anything else. By asking everyone to dig in their pockets occasionally it will help keep grass roots music alive.

Good morning all. 5 days at work then we can all (unless you are working next Saturday, or are on leave for all or part of this week, or just work part time hours, or are off sick or something) relax and enjoy this one.

Having a night of hip hop/rap and DIY alt bands is a first for us, as is having the heavyweights of MOSKITO and CLUB BRAT play on the same lineup.

Not content with adding For I The Badger into the Socks On Records family yesterday we’ve got an announcement that we are genuinely a touch emotional about.

When we started this 4 ish years ago we aspired to be like The Scary Clown presents and No Gods, No Managers. Putting on great gigs and having a safe community of people to hang out with. Over the last few years we’ve been lucky enough to build friendships with them and work with them. No we aren’t about to announce that Krispy has a solo album coming out…

Today the wonderful Jordy from No Gods, No Managers had a moment of weakness and decided to finally take us up on the offer of his incredible band A Great Notion joining Socks On Records. Not sure he realises this means he now needs to talk to us every single day and share his location with us so we can make sure he is safe.
