This Christmas, Purfleet Trust has been surrounded by incredible community spirit.

From a festive meal bringing nearly 100 people together, to generous Reverse Advent donations supporting vulnerable residents, kindness has been felt across West Norfolk. Fundraising efforts, including Matty’s festive running challenge, have also helped ensure vital food and support continue throughout the winter.

Congratulations to Queen Elizabeth Hospital phlebotomist Mandy Brady, who has received September’s Living Our Values Award for outstanding compassion and kindness.

Mandy was recognised after going above and beyond to help a member of the public in an emergency on her way to work. She was surprised with the award by hospital leaders and colleagues, celebrating her dedication to kindness, dignity and care at QEH.

A Lynn school took audiences on a magical trip down the rabbit hole as students from Springwood High School staged a modern retelling of Alice in Wonderland.

Thirty students from Years 7 to 13 performed in the production, with many more involved behind the scenes. The show blended familiar characters with contemporary music and themes, and was enjoyed by nearly 300 people over two nights, rounding off the Christmas term in memorable style.

This Christmas, seven-year-old Jensen from Wisbech delivered hundreds of donated toys to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.

After spending months in and out of hospital himself, Jensen wanted to bring joy to children spending Christmas on the ward. A huge thank you to Jensen, his family, and the local community for spreading festive cheer. 🎄

It was a magical end to term for Year 7 students at Smithdon High School, who rounded off the year with a festive trip to the pantomime.

Eighty-one pupils headed to the Princess Theatre in Hunstanton to enjoy a glittering production of Aladdin, complete with laughs, music and plenty of sparkle. The annual trip is part of the school’s focus on cultural experiences, and the excitement was doubled when students spotted past and present Smithdon pupils performing on stage. A perfect festive treat and, judging by the smiles, one they’ll definitely be repeating next year.
