Throughout June and July, members of the public joined New QEH Showcase events online or at venues including Downham Market, Marshland St James, South Wootton, Swaffham, King’s Lynn and Hunstanton, to hear from our team of specialists, see concept designs and ask questions.

They heard how the new hospital – set to open in 2032 – will transform the way care is delivered across West Norfolk, North Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire.

The concept designs have been created by leading specialists in healthcare design using the national Hospital 2.0 standardised blueprint design for all new hospitals.

At the heart of the building design is a central communication spine, providing easy access to all parts of the hospital.

Residents and staff at Lyncroft Care Home in Wisbech are gearing up for a 1,255 mile virtual bike ride, all without leaving the building.

The “Tour De Lyncroft 47 Home Challenge” aims to cover the distance between all 47 Country Court Care Homes, and local businesses are being invited to sponsor refreshments to keep the riders energised.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A47 in East Winch last week.

The collision happened at 1.50pm on Wednesday July 23, between a white Vauxhall Movano van and orange DAF truck on the A47 Lynn Road at East Winch.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene.

The driver, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to the QEH by ambulance and was later transferred to Addenbrooke’ s Hospital. He has since sadly died.

The road reopened at 4.30am.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision. Anyone with any information or any relevant dashcam footage is asked to get in touch via the following channels quoting reference NC-23072025-187
