For the first time in 47 years, the cap of Bircham Windmill has been lifted as a major restoration gets underway, led by Alec Chalmers – grandson of Roger Wagg, who restored the mill with his family in the 1970s.

Weighing around 8.5 tonnes, the cap was carefully removed by crane to repair water damaged timber, with a temporary cap now protecting the Grade II-listed windmill.

A special moment in the story of one of Norfolk’s historic landmarks.

Little Massingham Manor welcomed the East Anglian Air Ambulance for an afternoon raising funds towards its Cambridge Air Base Appeal.

Guests enjoyed a three-course lunch from James Cattle of Contemporary Catering Norfolk, paired with wines from Burnvalley Vineyard, followed by coffee and chocolates from Hunters Chocolates.

A brilliant cause and an incredible sight over the Norfolk countryside.

And the winning flavour is - Rosé W**e & Pear!🍷🍐

Congratulations Colleen Collins, your creation has been crowned the winner of the Dann's Luxury Norfolk Ice Cream competition.

Rosé W**e & Pear ice cream, paired with a honey roasted peach and crumble crumb - will be served at The Victoria on the Savour September Lunch Menu, from September 7th.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered and shared their delicious and unique flavour combinations.
