ON HOLIDAY… BUT APPARENTLY I CAN’T SWITCH OFF!

Currently enjoying a well-earned break in Barcelona 🇪🇸 — no DJ equipment, no requests, no “can you play one more?” and definitely no one asking me to play Mr Brightside for the 47th time…

…BUT somehow I’ve still managed to take a booking! 🤣

🎉 NEW YEAR’S EVE 2026 – BOOKED! 🎉

So while I’m supposed to be relaxing in the Spanish sunshine, the diary is already looking ahead to the biggest night of the year.

Clearly being a mobile DJ is a 24/7 occupation… even when I’m hundreds of miles away and trying to convince myself that sangria counts as a balanced diet!

Huge thanks to my new booking. I’m already looking forward to seeing you all on the dance floor!

Now, back to the important holiday business… where’s the nearest tapas bar?

What a night! 🎶🥳

I had the absolute pleasure of DJing at my lovely friend’s 60th birthday — and what a fabulous night it was!

Now, this was not an easy playlist! 😂 I was handed a list of 47 songs to fit into the evening, and with the challenge of keeping the dancefloor moving, creating the right flow and making sure there was something for everyone, I had my work cut out!

And I’m very pleased to say… 45 made it onto the dancefloor! 🎶🙌 Only two songs didn’t quite find a home in the end — which, considering the playlist and the time available, I’m calling a win! 😉

There were no requests because, quite frankly, there wasn’t room for them! 😆 The mission was to work through that carefully chosen list and make sure everyone had the wee night they deserved.

And judging by the dancing, singing, laughter and atmosphere, I think we nailed it. ❤️

Then, at the end of the night, she gave me this beautiful card. Her words about the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, the attention to detail, and making sure everyone had the best night really meant so much to me. 🥹

Thank you for trusting me with such an important celebration. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of your 60th — and what a way to celebrate it! 🥂🎂💃

Happy 60th! Here’s to many more fabulous nights, full dancefloors and plenty of wee moments to remember. ❤️🎶

Wishing Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen a speedy recovery after he was injured in a car accident while touring in the US. Thankfully, reports suggest his injuries are not serious, although he was taken for medical assessment and the band’s Philadelphia show had to be postponed. Sending best wishes to Ian and hoping he’s back on stage soon. 🎶❤️

🎧 Weekend DJ report in! 🎶

Honestly, I didn’t even get time to breathe, let alone sip my drink 🥤😂 The dancefloor was absolutely packed from the first beat right through to the last—zero empty space, zero quiet moments!

Requests? They were coming in faster than I could play them! 📝💨 I had people leaning over the booth, waving phones, shouting song titles… I felt like I was running a music delivery service, not just DJing! 🚚🎵

Loved every second of it though—you guys absolutely smashed it! 🕺💃 Thanks for the best crowd ever. Who’s ready for the next one? 😉🔥

Excuse me… HOW is Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles 40 years old this year?! 😳

FORTY.

I refuse to accept this information and would like to speak to the manager of time immediately.

One minute we were dramatically waving our arms about like confused hieroglyphics, and the next… we’re making noises when we stand up and getting excited about a good pair of supportive shoes. 😭

Honestly, where did the time go? I still know every word, every arm move, and yes… I absolutely still do the “Egyptian walk” when it comes on. No shame.

Now excuse me while I go stare into the distance wondering how the 80s were apparently four decades ago… 🏺🎶😂
