What a day at the East Yorkshire Business Expo!

We had an amazing time promoting our charity Reel Creative, teaming up with Helen Gill from HelloU Creative for a day packed with innovation, creativity, and great conversations.

From Astro the robot dog and VR business simulations to trying out the incredible robot trousers, it was a brilliant mix of tech, creativity, and community spirit.

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by — so many inspiring people and fantastic businesses from across Hull and the East Riding. Days like this remind us how powerful collaboration can be.

We produced this AI-generated transformation video using just a couple of low res before-and-after photographs — showcasing the incredible redevelopment work on the SongBird Survival / Neighbourhood Network project in Hull.

It’s amazing what can be achieved with AI — turning static images into dynamic storytelling tools that bring engineering, community and creativity together.

🎬 This is our most ambitious animation to date — and our longest, running at around 25 minutes. It’s going to be epic!

Written by award-winning author Christina Gabbitas, Missing has been commissioned by North Yorkshire Police and funded by the Community Safety Serious Violence Fund 2024/25 through the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Building on the success of No More Knives and Trapped in County Lines, this powerful comic-strip-to-animation story dives deep into real-life themes of exploitation, vulnerability, and safeguarding.

Launching this November — we can’t wait to share it with you all.

Here's the trailer for my 'Missing' story, illustrated and animated by INIT Creative

Commissioned by North Yorkshire Police Funded by Community Safety Serious Violence Fund 2024/25 York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority

The project will build on the success of existing collaboration with North Yorkshire Police (NYP). ‘Missing’ will continue the themes explored in previous resources, “No More Knives” and “Trapped in County Lines,” and will be presented in a comic strip format that will be adapted into an animation. Missing will draw significantly from real-life experiences and events, established through a valuable network of partners.

The story will be launched in November and made available to the public after the launch.

Seeing it in action was incredible — the precision and versatility of this kit make it a fantastic tool for filming, enabling smooth, complex, and repeatable camera moves. But the potential goes way beyond just creative media. Robotics like this are transforming industries from engineering to healthcare, education, and manufacturing.

It was great to explore how we could integrate robotics with our immersive filming projects here at INIT Creative. When creativity meets technology, the possibilities are endless. 🚀
