A huge well done to all of our new dancers last night! Ruby said you were all brilliant 🌟 It was so nice to have so many of you enjoying dance lessons together - some of you for the very first time ☺️

We do still have spaces in jazz and just a couple in tap so please send us a message if you’d like to join us.

The intermediate class will be starting this year’s Spice Girls Tapathon routine next week in aid of Children In Need 💛 don’t panic beginners, it’s not for you just yet but you’re more than welcome to come and join us on the day to have a watch and some tea & cake ☕️🍰

EXCITING NEWS!! 🤩

We have added a second new class to our timetable for September! Another jazz class, which will be taught by Ruby 🙌🏼

Suitable for all ages and all abilities. It’s a relaxed and fun class where you learn routines in different styles and do a few strengthening exercises.

If anyone is on the waiting list for jazz or would like to join, please just send us a message to reserve your place.

It will be 7.40-8.20 on a Wednesday at Swanland School. £5 per class.

Hi 👋🏼 I’m Jess or Miss Jess as my students know me. I thought I would reintroduce myself as it’s been a while and some of you are new here.

I’ve been teaching adult dance classes in Swanland for the last 8 years and have recently added beginner tap to the Wednesday evening timetable. Please come and join us from September if you fancy learning to tap!

I trained at where I gained my teaching qualifications in ISTD Tap, Ballet and Modern. I then went on to dance professionally for a few years onboard , where I held the role of Dance Captain for my final two contracts 🛳️

I absolutely loved my time at dance class when I was younger (although I was a crier when I had to leave my Mum at 3)! The Fleur Elizabeth Academy of Dance always held a special place in my heart as my teacher, Miss Fleur, was one of my biggest inspirations. I made friends for life and hold some of the most incredible memories from my time there. When an opportunity arose to teach at the I knew I had to make the most of it. 8 years on, I still love working there and am now Vice Principal of the School, which is thriving in it’s 32nd year.

Teaching adult classes gives me so much joy to see ladies of all ages forgetting about the stresses of their day, feeling proud when they’ve nailed a sequence and generally just having a great time with likeminded women who support and uplift each other. Why should dance have to stop when you’re 18 when it has so many benefits?!

I currently have waiting lists for a couple of the classes but if you fancy joining us just send me a message.

EXCITING NEWS!! 🤩

I am thrilled to tell you that Ruby will be joining me from September and we will be adding BEGINNER TAP to the Wednesday evening timetable. Absolutely no experience required, just a desire to learn something new and a sense of humour!

7.00-7.40, term time Wednesdays at Swanland School - £5 per class.

Ruby has spent the last 3 years at Durham University and alongside studying for her degree in Sociology, she has also been undertaking her ISTD teacher training in Tap and Modern. She’s loved being part of Durham University Dancesport Team and choreographed her Offbeat group to become National Champions in Blackpool - an incredible achievement! Ruby has also taught Beginner and Inter Tap at uni and has assisted and taught many children’s classes at various ISTD dance schools, gaining invaluable experience.

Ruby is a natural teacher (gets it from her Mama) and I know you will love her classes 😍

If you would like to join Ruby on 4th September to try Beginner Tap, please message me to reserve your place.

We expect this class to be as popular as our Intermediate and Advanved Tap classes so don’t miss out on reserving your space! ✨

Some snippets from last week’s classes as I always forget to share the tap! 💜

At the moment I’m receiving several enquires per week which is amazing but the waiting list is getting longer and longer. If you’re down on the list and I haven’t been in touch that’s the reason. I would love to add more classes to accommodate you all but unfortunately I just don’t have the time 🙈

I do have spaces however in the advanced tap class (second video) so please let me know if you’d like to join.

I’ll be able to invite a few new people from January so will be in touch after Christmas if you’re next up on the waiting list.
