It's international womens day cats. Us at Ronno want to shine a light on the undeniable, inspirational and fiercely talented musicians we work with every day.
Thank you to the women that inspire us , for the art you create and for being our friends and colleagues.
Women in the music industry face systemic inequalities that create challenges in:
Gender Bias & Stereotyping
Assumptions about women’s abilities limit opportunities, with male artists often favored.
Underrepresentation in Leadership
Women remain scarce in executive, production, and technical roles, curbing their influence.
Harassment & Safety
Many fear speaking out about mistreatment, fearing career repercussions.
Unequal Pay & Resources
Pay gaps and limited promotional support stifle growth.
Balancing Career & Family
Touring and late-night gigs often clash with family responsibilities, hitting women harder.
Image Pressure
Intense focus on appearance can overshadow artistic achievements.
Despite these obstacles, female artists continue to break new ground—whether through building their own platforms, forging supportive communities, or mentoring the next generation of female artists. Changes in public awareness and industry advocacy have begun to tackle these issues, but more work is needed to ensure truly equitable access and recognition for women in music. With every new success story, we move closer to a future where all voices are heard, celebrated, and empowered.
