This is where we started.
Realised we never posted our reel on our social media until now (it was on our website so you may have already seen it)! It features projects that I (Juan) had the chance to participate in 2018/19 and it also shows a bit of our film VICTORIA, that Maria produced and co-edited.
What a journey it’s been for the last 9 months since Kingfisher has been up and running as a registered business in Scotland. It feels so much longer in this crazy world that we’re living in and has definitely been tough at points, but it also feels like a journey where both Maria and I feel so grateful to each and every person that has trusted us and helped us grow both personally and as a business.
Kingfisher is a dream that started in our head and heart probably around 2016 in Bogotá and, as a good friend recently said to me, it's so good to see it flying!
We continue to grow our portfolio and currently completing projects that started months ago, which we’re also excited to see coming to life. Also starting new partnerships and hopefully will be able to share a bit more soon!

We're delighted to share a taster of what we filmed with Zoe from International Justice Mission last week. This seminar will feature in the next edition of Magnitude Fest in Scotland! More BTS on our Instagram.
IJM is the largest anti-slavery organisation in the world, check them out and see how you can get involved with the important work that they do around the globe.
Thanks to Zoe and Andy for choosing us to film this project, we hope it will inspire many!

In all seriousness, we've been on heavy-duty editing over the past wee while BUT also have enjoyed some time off. We're finishing some of the projects we've been editing and excited for a few more to come that involve being out there with the camera. Happy days!

Update!
We've been a little quiet over here, but not because we've not been busy over the past month! As lockdown restrictions in the UK have been easing, we've been able to do some good progress in the projects we've been working on: we've been editing the course series we're producing with , we were also shooting in Glasgow with and now preparing an upcoming shoot in Aberdeen about their homelessness prevention work!

On our documentary strand, we're excited to say we're officially developing a new short doc that we hope we'll be able to share more details on in the coming months!

We've also learned how important it is to pace ourselves and find good rhythms balancing work and rest, so we can say we've been going on in our daily walks and also enjoyed the nice sunny weather in Edinburgh over the past couple of days.

Glasgow City Mission

We are excited to give you a peek behind the scenes of some new films we're creating with We are Kingfisher. We’ve been through in Glasgow talking to brilliant volunteers like Brian who help us to run the Care Van.

In partnership with Glasgow City Mission and local churches, the Care Van engages with people in their own communities, providing food and hot drinks, a friendly listening ear, encouragement, compassion, local knowledge and information, general advice and signposting where appropriate.

We look forward to sharing the finished film with you at a later date!
