Fantastic story in today's Daily Record by Paul English, ahead of the launch of an inspiring new documentary - 'Make it to Munich '- which will be premiered at the close of Glasgow Film Festival on Sunday 9th March. Made by Blackhouse FIlms, music legend BA Robertson has rewritten his Scottish football anthem for the film. It tells the story of a truly remarkable young man, Ethan Walker, from Huntly in Aberdeenshire, who was hit by a car and sustained multiple life-threatening injuries while on a football scholarship in the US. He survived, against all odds, and cycled 800 miles to Germany to see the Scotland team play Munich last year with his pioneering surgeon, Professor Gordon Mackay at The MacKay Clinic.

It was a joy to see Gordon MacKay of The MacKay Clinic and young Ethan Walker tell their story on BBC Breakfast yesterday.
Together with Jan Patience, I have been helping promote the brilliant Make it to Munich documentary, which has been chosen to have its world premiere at this year’s Glasgow Film Festival on Sunday 9 March.
Have a watch of the video below. What a pair of snappy dressers too…

Brilliant to see Ethan Walker's story being featured on BBC Breakfast. Ethan was a promising young footballer on a scholarship to the US when he was struck by a car and nearly died. Against the odds, he survived, and together with his surgeon, Professor Gordon MacKay at The MacKay Clinic in Scotland who reconstructed his knee, the pair cycled 800 miles to Munich to see Scotland play Germany in the Euros last year. Now there's a documentary about it ! Make it to Munich will receive its world premiere on 9th March at Glasgow Film Festival. Definitely one to watch!

This live event on Friday (22 Nov) hosted by Ricky Ross will be fascinating.

Hymns written by John and his friend and colleague, the late Graham Maule, are sung around the world.

As composer and conductor, Iain McLarty, who followed John into The Iona Community’s Wild Goose Resource Group says:

“They’ve given the church songs to sing which are grounded both in the Bible and in the realities of life, rather than seeing those as two separate things.”

Save the date!

It was so much fun hanging out with these inspirational women in Norfolk, Virginia, recently. Publicist Beck G. (front) introduced me to Hannah Sobol (back) and Jackie Hope Glass(right). Hannah and Jackie have created a fantastic podcast series. Called 'Truth be Told, it's an audio tour of historically Black neighbourhoods in Norfolk and I tagged along on the media launch.
