There is a fundraising head-shave in Tesco's foyer today at half past three. Wendy Wolmarans is undergoing treatment for cancer, and her husband Mark is shaving his head, beard and moustache and their friend Ruth Owen is shaving her head. They are raising awareness and funds for CLAN Orkney and Macmillan - and there will be donation buckets there.
Orkney SANDS – the Baby Loss charity – is holding a Service at the King Street Halls at half past six today to mark the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week, and will be lighting candles at seven o’ clock to join the international wave of light.
Costa SWI have their Annual Business Meeting tonight at half past seven – and the competitions are 4 programme and competition ideas.
A Bowls and Games Night is held in Harray Community Centre from seven till nine on Wednesdays.
And there’s Indoor Bowls in the Dounby School at seven o’ clock, and Bowling in the Orphir Hall at half past seven.
Borealis Bells has a Handbell practice at half past seven in the Sandwick Hall.
There's Yarnin in the Orphir Kirk at seven o' clock.
The Men’s Shed in Stromness is open tonight from seven till nine.
Orkney Accordion and Fiddle Club will play in the Kirkwall Hotel from half past seven.
Burray Ball Group meets from two till four in the Burray Hall.
The Ladies Hub is on at Age Scotland Orkney between one and half past two.
There’s Traditional Dancing at half past ten in Kirkwall Town Hall.
While there’s Line Dancing tonight in Deerness Community Centre at half past seven. And tickets for the Deerness Harvest Home on the 24th must be bought by Tuesday to ensure it goes ahead – they’re at Deerness Stores, Deerness Distillery and the Daily Scoop.
Selbro at Hatston is open on Wednesdays from two till four for anyone with questions about supportive equipment, or wanting to speak to an Occupational Therapist, the Rehab Officer for Sensory Impairment, the Telecare Team or Care & Repair. OT advice is also available by calling the Council.
Stromness Social Walking Group leaves from outside Stromness Surgery at midday.
And the Rangers lead a Walk at the Standing Stones and Barnhouse at ten o’ clock on Wednesdays.
Kirkwall Lifeboat Shop is open Mondays to Saturdays between midday and three o’ clock.
Clan’s Drop In is open Mondays to Thursdays from ten till four when anyone affected by cancer can call past. One to One appointments and complimentary therapies are also available, book on 87 33 93 or email: orkney @ clancancersupport dot org.

The Orkney Storytelling Festival is coming up next weekend - from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th - with events in Stromness, Sandwick, Rendall, Birsay, Holm, Papa Westray and Kirkwall. The programme and tickets are available online at orkney storytelling festival dot co dot uk.

The Pier Arts Centre has the first survey exhibition of the work of Roger Ackling running till the end of October.
Stromness Museum has an exhibition titled Powered by the People and tells the story of Orkney’s Renewable Energy.
The exhibition Uncovering Crockness and Rinnigill is open daily at St John’s Kirk Walls Heritage – 3 miles from Lyness towards Longhope.
The Odd Animals Rescue Charity Shop on Victoria Street in Kirkwall has a Pet Food Bank for dogs and cats. They’re open Tuesday to Saturday and say don’t be too embarrassed to ask for help.
Flotta Harvest Home is this Friday with Music by Murray Cowie Band. Tickets will be at the door, but note there’s No Launch service this year so visitors will need to find their own accommodation.
It’s the Deerness Harvest Home next Friday the 24th and tickets are available from Deerness Stores, Deerness Distillery and the Daily Scoop.
And Orphir Harvest Home is on November 8th with guest speaker Kerry Omand and dancing to the Kirkjuvagr Ceildh Band. Tickets are available from Orphir School Office – cash only.
