Coming up soon - MR BURTON - Saturday 20 September, War Memorial Hall, Lamberhurst, 7.30pm.

MR BURTON, starring Toby Jones, Lesley Manville and newcomer Harry Lawtey. Released earlier this year, MR BURTON tells the story of directionless welsh schoolboy, Richie Jenkins who under the tutelage of his teacher becomes one of the world’s greatest actors – Richard Burton.

"Mr Burton tells a uniquely painful and dysfunctional story, and does its best to show how Richard Burton’s pride always coexisted with shame and self-hate." THE GUARDIAN

With great performances and a reflection on Richard Burton’s early life and career that we are less familiar with, this is a film not to miss!

Tickets just £6 and can be bought online from our website, Teise & Coffee on the Broadway or on the door on the night.

Sometimes, we show a film and when the lights go up at the end, nobody speaks or moves… that’s when we know we’ve hit the spot.

Last nights screening of IO CAPITANO was one of those films, leaving people horrified and uplifted at the same time.

If you came to watch it with us, we hope you took something away with you from the evening…. and if you didn’t, do see if you can find it on a streaming service somewhere…

We like to take a chance with a film choice sometimes
