Join us for the first film of our new season this coming Saturday, 12 September when we will be screening TUNER (cert 15, 2025) at 7.30pm in the War Memorial Hall, Lamberhurst.

A crime thriller, TUNER tells the story of a gifted former piano prodigy Niki White (Leo Woodall) with an extreme sensitivity to sound who works as a piano tuner in New York with his mentor, Harry, played by Dustin Hoffman.

When Harry piles up medical debts, Niki earns cash by using his acute hearing and near-perfect pitch to crack safes for a criminal gang, pulling him into dangerous territory that threatens his life and a budding romance.

**** THE GUARDIAN: Playing a piano tuner with super sensitive hearing, Woodall’s relationship with Hoffman is a tender highlight in this unforced crime drama.

SEASON FINALE - REMINDER - Saturday 27th June.

It might be cooling down by Saturday evening but the music will still be hot in our final screening of our 2025/26 Season.

Come and join us for possibly the finest rock ‘n’ roll biopic ever made - with Gary Busey’s Oscar-nominated performance as Buddy Holly (and yes, he played and sang everything himself, live on set!)

For those of you who are football fans, can we remind you that our screening will finish at about 9:30pm, so plenty of time to get yourselves in front of a screen as England (hopefully!) secure their place in the next stage🤞🤞🤞

For those not so worried, when the film is over, we’ll open up the bar and keep the music playing so you can stay in a late-1950s time warp for a little longer!

Season Finale: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY — Sat 27 June, 7.30pm

We’re closing our season with a real gem: the Oscar‑nominated THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY (1978) — still regarded as one of the finest music biopics ever made.

Gary Busey delivers an extraordinary performance as Buddy Holly, capturing the spark drove him from small‑town Texas to the forefront of rock ’n’ roll.

Every song is performed live on set, giving it a real authenticity you rarely see today. Nothing lip-synced or computer-generated here!

After the credits roll, to celebrate the end of a brilliant season, we’ll keep the rock ’n’ roll spirit going - bar open, snacks out, chairs pushed back and classic tracks playing for anyone who fancies a dance.
