FREE COUNSELLING AND SUPPORT IN LAUNCESTON

Castle & Coast Therapies have made two free counselling and support sessions available for people in Launceston.

The first is a free counselling service for young people aged 16-18, with face-to-face and remote appointments available. These sessions will help individuals understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and to come up with solutions.

The second is 'Stronger Together', a women's group held on Friday afternoons at the Health Hub to build connections, offer support and create a safe space for individuals to be listened to.

If you are interested in talking to someone about the appointments, call 01566 770729, email [email protected] or visit

Our Vision: “To create a community where everyone has equal access to essential mental health support, regardless of their financial situation. Castle & Coast Therapies aspires to reduce the burden on NHS counselling services by providing accessible, low-cost counselling, fostering emotiona...

Please join us in wishing Claire luck as she prepares to head off on an incredible adventure tomorrow.

She will be flying across the world to walk the Himalayan Foothills, in aid of Children's Hospice South West.

Claire has spent many months training along Cornwall's coastline, moors and trails, as well as raising as much as possible for CHSW. She is grateful to readers, clients, friends and local businesses who have donated or supported her along the way.

She will be joined by her mini mascot Yeti on her travels, given to her by her main sponsor Charlie Bears in Launceston.

If you would like to donate, head to Claire's Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/claire-pearce-1721385784870?msockid=37be0d0b1a7166bd03491b571b56673c

Good luck Claire! ⭐️

West Kernick Tea Garden has been raising money for this year's Poppy Appeal with a range of activities to involve the local community, from raffles to craft days.

The tea garden, based in Altarnun, is run by Julie Jewell - aka, Aunty Julie - who wanted to do something special to support her customers who are retired veterans.

The tea garden has been busy hosting craft days, craft sales and a remembrance raffle in order to raise funds to support our country's veterans, past and present.

To see more about the fundraiser and how you can get involved, visit West Kernick Tea Garden on Facebook or call Julie on 07789334569.

The raffle will be drawn on Remembrance weekend.

Autumn traditions: Allantide and Halloween

While we may think of Halloween as just another excuse to dress up and eat many, many bags of sweets, it actually stems back to ancient traditions passed down through the ages.

Tell us something that has brought you joy this week...

Perhaps it was bumping into a friend and spontaneously going for coffee, or a positive chat had with a local business owner. Maybe a shop window display made you smile, or someone showed you kindness when you most needed it.

Let us know how your community made you smile recently.
