The bank holiday is over, the weather looks set to turn, and the last days of August are upon us.

How will you be bringing this long, dry summer to an end?

Perhaps you’re preparing your children for a new term at school or getting ready to go back to work yourself. Your favourite sport might be calling you back to the pitch, or giving you a well-deserved rest after a charged few weeks.

Maybe you’re setting up a new community group or creative project, or are simply looking forward to slowing down with the coming change of season.

Let us know how September is looking for you, and if you’ve got anything coming up that the community should know about - get in touch! We’d love to write about it on our website.

Wonderful to see such a great turnout for the VJ Day street party in the Square on Sunday! 🍰 ☕️

Nothing like a good old fashioned British street party to mark an occasion.

What a great evening we had at the Mothers in War event at St Torney’s Church, North Hill, last night.

Annie Garthwaite, author of ‘Cecily’ and ‘The King’s Mother’, delved into the lives of the women of the Wars of the Roses to a large audience in this beautiful Cornish church.

We heard of the hardships, ambitions and desires of medieval noble women during this tumultuous period of history, and the lengths they would go to for their husbands and sons.

Congratulations to Sarah Latham Phillips and all at St Torney’s Church for making this event happen.

With pools, lakes, rivers and sea right on our doorstep in Cornwall, it’s no wonder that cold water dips and wild swimming are all the rage amongst many communities.

We take a look at how this has benefited people across Cornwall, including Launceston swimmer Lowenna North - who has already swam the English Channel, and remains the youngest person to have completed the swim from Eddystone Lighthouse to Plymouth Hoe!

📸 Many thanks to Lowenna for this fantastic photo!
