In the winter issue of Bodmin Life magazine, we would love to include your photos and memories of winter days in the local area.

Perhaps you have a festive family recipe passed down through the generations, photos of you sledging in the countryside, or a fond winter memory that you would like to share.

Bodmin Gallery and Creative Studio is a fantastic new space in the centre of town, appealing to local residents and visitors to the town alike.

Run by Bodmin Revival CIC, it is hoped that the space will contribute to a new way of experiencing Bodmin’s town centre. In recent, difficult times for the economy, it is vital that town centres adapt and move with the times, says Carol Randall of Bodmin Revival CIC.

The Police and Crime Commissioner has announced two funding opportunities for community groups to help prevent theft in their communities.

Organisations, charities and voluntary groups in Devon and Cornwall have the opportunity to bid for a share of £330,000 of crime prevention funding.

The Commissioner's Community Grant Scheme and Police Property Act Fund, which launched on 1st September, will focus on a theme around the prevention and reduction of burglary and theft, including root causes and antisocial behaviour.

Funding of £200,000 is up for grabs through the Community Grant Scheme, while the PPA Fund is offering up to £115,300.

This Friday, Clare, Emma and Lizzie from Bodmin Railway will complete 16 round trips between Bodmin General and Walker Lines, using a unique Camel hand-propelled trolley.

They are raising money to support improvements to the heritage railway’s visitor experience, including a refresh to the Exhibition Coach and upgrades to the Boscarne Junction station and green.

On the weekend of 12th-14th September, 80 veterans of The Rifles and Light Infantry will gather to walk 30 miles of Cornish coastline, raising money for The Rifles Trust and Bodmin Keep.

The route begins in Tintagel on Friday 12th, taking in Polzeath and Wadebridge on Saturday 13th, before ending in Bodmin on Sunday 14th.
