It’s and Sofi has written an article about their experiences with epilepsy, and ableism in education.

Sofi: “There are some very personal images in this post, and it was definitely something that was difficult for me to write about. But, we need more disability-positivity, and if this article helps even one person to feel better about themselves, then it was worth it.”

Introducing Clay House Press - comics celebrating diversity 🌈

Have you ever felt underrepresented in comics? The comic industry has always been a space that's lacked inclusivity - to this day, the majority of creative professionals working in comics are straight, cisgender, white males. And this majority is reflected in the content of the comics and graphic novels we see on the shelves every day...

Their is such a lack of truly diverse comics available. For example, the LGBTQ+ section in London's largest comic superstore comes down to ONE SHELF. You could hold them all at once, it's that small. That means that representation for specific groups of people within the LGBTQ+ community is even worse, such as trans-inclusive narratives.

And it's not just about LGBTQ+ representation - ALL minority groups have been left out of mainstream publishing for years, and that is not a true reprsentaton of society. As people, we're all so different, and that difference should be celebrated. That's why, at Clay House Press, our mission is to make the comic industry a more diverse, inclusive space.

Everyone should be able to see themselves represented in comics. We aim to focus on providing a voice for marginalised groups: LGBTQ+, ethnic minority, female/non-binary, and disabled creators! 🌈
