🧘‍♀️ YOGA TEACHER OPPORTUNITY 🧘‍♂️

Would you be a qualified yoga instructor looking for a space to run your own classes?

Farnley Community Centre has availability for a self-employed yoga teacher to deliver beginner-friendly yoga sessions in our welcoming community setting.

This could be a great opportunity to build your own classes while helping local residents improve their health, wellbeing and fitness. 💚

We're looking for an instructor who can provide:

✅ Relevant yoga qualifications
✅ Public liability insurance
✅ Risk assessment
✅ DBS check, where relevant
✅ First aid training – desirable

The instructor would organise and deliver their own sessions, promote their classes and hire the community centre room at an agreed rate.

On Saturday 28th November, Farnley Community Centre will be hosting our Farnley Christmas Market, with plenty of festive fun for all the family – including our Christmas Light Switch-On and a special visit from Santa! 🎅🎄

🔨 THE SHED @ FARNLEY COMMUNITY CENTRE 🔨

With a Brew & Banter ☕️

We’re really excited to announce the launch of The Shed — a new weekly social space for men aged 18+ here at Farnley Community Centre.

Starting Monday 14th September, we’ll be opening the doors every Monday evening from 7:30pm–9:00pm.

The idea is simple: come along, grab a brew, have a bit of banter, play a few games and meet other local men.

🔨 And, over time, practical activities and community projects

Whether you're working, retired, self-employed, unemployed, a new dad, recently moved to the area, or simply fancy getting out of the house for a couple of hours — you'll be welcome at The Shed.

This isn't about having to talk about your problems. It's about creating a place where men can meet, connect, have a laugh and look out for one another. Sometimes a brew and a bit of good company can make a bigger difference than we realise.

💛 FREE TO ATTEND
We operate on a Pay As You Feel basis. If you'd like to make a small contribution, it will help us keep The Shed running, but nobody will be turned away because they can't contribute.

🚫 No alcohol or illegal drugs.
We want The Shed to be a safe, friendly and respectful space for everyone.

Unfortunately the cafe is closed today due to emergency electrical works out on the street on Cross Lane.

Please note this is also affecting Nisa and the hairdressers.

It is expected to be at least a few hours before the supply is restored.

Teams that scrape together stay together!

Behind the scenes and not often seen is the work to keep the community centre looking the best it can for a 52 year old building.

This weekend has consisted of steam cleaning our 50 chairs and the biggest job by far is the long overdue job of stripping back years of old polish in preparation of it’s shiny new lacquer finish, giving a new lease of life to the floor.

As a self funded charity we work hard to meet the needs of our offerings to the community whilst making sure the building remains safe and presentable.
