🚨 RELEASE DAY 🚨

It is an immense pleasure to present the third release on Portal Records: Celestial by Ferniemusic, four deep cuts of spacey ambient techno and an interstellar remix from hypnotic stalwart NESS. 100 copies only and they are going fast! Also available on all the usual digital platforms!

Big love to everyone that’s supported us on the preorders, pressing records as a juvenile label is a huge challenge and your early endorsement really helps to keep this show on the road.

Leeds folk - we’re back in Holding Patterns on Wednesday and will have copies with us - join us as we celebrate all of our releases to date with residents and friends on the decks from 7pm.

Massive shoutout to Fernie for trusting us to see his beautiful works come to life with this release, and to Ness for getting on board with the project and delivering a pitch perfect reworking of the opening track. The artwork is once again a creation of the ever-talented Anon, who tries her very best to remain anonymous!

Finally, Artefacts Mastering Studio for being truly one of the best; AFG Record Manufacturing for turning record pressing into art and to Space Cadets for looking after the distribution once again with their lovely platform.

🌲 NEXT WEDNESDAY 🌲

We’re taking a trip down to Leeds’ latest cosy space Holding Patterns on Wednesday 11th December. We’ll be playing a range of sounds to utilise their hi-fi system, from ambient drone to dubbed-out atmospheric techno. Come join us for an intimate mid-week jaunt. They have a great selection of beers, cocktails, hot beverages and tasty looking cakes. A gathering to listen, connect and unwind. Pop in!

We’ve been a little quiet lately, caught in a whirling eddy as life rushes all around us. But as we move into August the summer sun has us reflecting on the journey of our project up until this moment.

We couldn’t be happier with the press and finish of the vinyls produced by AFG Record Manufacturing, providing a warm analogue take on the release that you can purchase from all the usual places courtesy of Space Cadets - if you’re in Leeds there are copies in Plant & Deck.

Portal: What Lies Beyond.

Episode 04: Kairogen

The fourth instalment of our podcast sees us return to the far North, where we find amongst the foothills of the ragged highlands Glaswegian based friend and artist Kairogen - whose careful devotion to the mixing craft has seen her grow from strength to strength in recent years. A regular behind the decks at the iconic Sub Club, we were delighted to bring Kairogen down to Leeds for our launch party where we were totally captivated by an enchanting session that drove us deep into the night.

For this episode the drums do sound in the deep, with an expertly curated hour of deep, tribal rhythms and textures to awaken our most basest of instincts. Join us as we embark into the swirling mists of the swamplands, stomping to the incantations of our shaman lords, ever bending towards the light fantastic.
