🚨Wanted man pulled from River Aire in Leeds as armed police respond

A man had to be rescued from the River Aire in Leeds city centre this evening in The Calls area.

Armed officers were seen with guns pointed at him while a police helicopter circled overhead.

Firefighter water rescue teams on boats pulled from the male from the water.

Local residents watched on as the incident unfolded right in the heart of the city.

Tragic house fire in Bradford leaves 79-year-old man dead

A house fire broke out on St Margaret’s Road in Bradford on Wednesday evening. Police were called by the fire service just after 10.22pm to help at the scene.

One person was reported to be inside the property. Sadly, the body of a 79-year-old man was found and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

No suspicious circumstances are believed to be involved, and a file will be passed to the coroner.
