📢 Announcement 📢

Jess and I are teaming up to talk accountability. If elected we both plan on using our platforms to hold the university accountable on issues that are important to students.

I'm backing Jess for Union Affairs and Comms as she said 'When facing problems of this magnitude, it is vital we use our voices.' I believe that The Gryphon can be used to amplify our voices on these issues during this time.

If you want to see the university held to account follow Owen for Gryphon and say Yes to Jess for Union Affairs and Comms.

My second Policy Point: ARTS 🎨

As your editor, I aim to greater promote local and student arts events available to Leeds students.

You can read these points (and more) in my LUU candidate statement from the 🔗 in my bio but a quick summary!

PROMOTION: whether it's student theatre, poetry, photography, illustration, comedy, arts and crafts, (and more), I want The Gryphon to be a home for student art to be introduced.

LOCAL CONNECTIONS: I will build more connections with Leeds' arts spaces, (as well as other local organisations), such as Leeds Poetry Studio, Left Bank, Hyde Park Art Club, Republica Internationale FC, The Bookish Type and more.

AUTHOR PROFILE: Print is a wonderful way to express creativity; as well as keeping online news up-to-date, I will create an opt-in ability to have an 'Author Profile' on The Gryphon's website, with access to LinkedIn or links to other parts of students' portfolios.

I want to raise awareness of the wide-ranging advantages of picking up Gryphon newspapers on campus, if you vote for me as Editor.

SOCIETY SPOTLIGHT: Prioritise student society achievements in our student newspaper.
