Did you know Stonehenge is over 5,000 years old, predating the pyramids by 500 years? During my recent visit, I learned that this ancient monument wasn't always composed of the massive sarsen stones we see today. Initially, it featured a circle of 56 posts, potentially wooden or stone. The Aubrey holes, named after archaeologist John Aubrey, reveal this fascinating evolution. Also, the site's connection to ley lines adds another layer of mystical intrigue—some believe these alignments hold spiritual significance, linking ancient sites in straight lines. Whether used as a calendar, a place of worship, or for intricate rituals, Stonehenge's history is as deep and complex as the legends surrounding it.
