We will soon be publishing When Someone Dies: A Practical UK Guide by S A Carmody-Author and are inviting experienced probate solicitors to contribute expert insight.
We are particularly keen to hear from established Leeds and Yorkshire firms with strong Private Client, Probate, Court of Protection and Contentious Probate teams, especially those known for transparent communication, timely estate administration and best-practice client care.
We are seeking:
• anonymised case studies
• examples of best practice in probate and estate
administration
• clear explanations of probate timelines
• guidance that reduces stress, delay and uncertainty for families
• practical advice for those navigating complex,
high-value or sensitive estates
We are also looking for a respected solicitor or partner to write the Foreword for the book.
The guide will include a section helping families understand what supportive, communicative and client-focused probate services look like, alongside a directory of trusted firms.
If your firm handles:
• Probate
• Contentious probate
• Trusts
• Multi-layered or high-value estates
• Court of Protection matters
We would love to hear from you.
Please DM or email to discuss contributing. Link in bio.

S A Carmody-Author is deep into the research for Book Two of time travel series, Rocket to the Past: Blackshirts, set during the events of 4 October 1936, the day remembered as the Battle of Cable Street.
One of the most striking reminders of that moment is the Cable Street Mural in Shadwell, East London. Painted between 1979 and 1983 by Dave Binnington, Paul Butler, Ray Walker, and Desmond Rochfort, it covers over 3,500 square feet of St George’s Town Hall. Inspired by the social realism of Diego Rivera, it depicts protesters, police, barricades, and the energy of that day, all shown in a dramatic fisheye perspective.
If you ever visit, look out for the Cable Street Inn across the road. Built in 1790 as an ale house, it was open during the battle and now operates as a boutique bed and breakfast, beautifully restored and full of East End history.
Researching this period has been fascinating for the author, who cannot wait to bring readers back to 1936 in Rocket to the Past: Blackshirts. Book One, Rocket to the Past, the first in the series of six full-length novels, launches in early 2026.

📚 Author Copies Have Landed!

Just received the author copies of The Road to Wigan Pier – Modernised Edition from KMCS Publishing, and they look fantastic.

This edition brings George Orwell’s classic social commentary into clearer, more accessible modern English while keeping every ounce of its original power and honesty. It’s a powerful reminder that the issues Orwell wrote about in the 1930s, poverty, class, dignity, and fairness still matter today.

Proud to see this one in print and ready to share with new generations of readers.

✨ Available soon via KMCS Publishing and major retailers.

🎄 This Christmas, magic is closer than you think, just in Otley.

Behind the shelves of an old Victorian house, Lucy Patterson finds a hidden passage that doesn’t lead to another room… it leads to another century.

From the cobbled streets of Otley in 2025 to the gas-lit lanes of 1885, A Christmas Through Time is a heart-warming, time-slipping romance about courage, love, and the moments that bridge generations.

✨ If you love festive fiction set in real Yorkshire places, where history and heart collide, this one’s for you.
