No matter how dark the night may feel, the sun always rises.
Don't give up on your life. Su***de should never be an option. You have no idea how quickly things can turn around sometimes in just a day, a moment, a chance meeting, or a single decision.

🔴 If You’re Currently Overseas and Planning to Come to the UK 🇬🇧 as a Care Worker:

Unfortunately, Care Workers visa sponsorship for overseas care workers has officially ended today 22/ 7/2025 this likely means:
• UK employers can no longer sponsor foreign care workers under the Health and Care Worker visa.
Do not let anyone scam you,Uk no longer recruit care workers outside the UK.

✅ What You Can Do:
• Watch for official updates from the UK Home Office or GOV.UK.
• Explore other visa routes, like:
• Student visa (if you’re willing to study in the UK).
• Skilled Worker visa in a different profession (IT, nursing, etc.).
• Global Talent or Startup/Innovator visas (if eligible).
• Look into care work opportunities in other countries (e.g. Canada, Australia, Ireland) still accepting overseas applications.

I have seen many storms in my life. Most storms have caught me by surprise, so I had to learn very quickly to look further and understand that I am not capable of controlling the weather, to exercise the art of patience and to respect the fury of nature.

Yesterday a Pakistani customer walked into our store with his 9 year old son. While I was attending to them, I heard the son ask "Papa do dey sell fufu and eguisi ?" "Papa can you make ewedu?"

My ears stood still and I asked the customer how the son knows about these dishes. The customer told me his son was born in Ijebu Ode, and they lived in Lagos for 7 years. It wasn't very busy and my colleague was there so I had a short time to engage in a conversation with this customer.

This customer said he was sent to Nigeria to oversee a production company which I won't be naming but it's a known brand in Nigeria.

We talked about cultural differences between the US(Customer was born in the US), Nigeria and the UK.

One thing stood out for me in our conversation and it was sad to note.

The customer talked about how labour is cheap in Nigeria. He said they know they wouldn't be spending so much in Nigeria before he was sent there but the company spent way lesser than their budget during his time there and it's because the Nigerians he was working with cut down so many expenses on the budget.

He said considering the living cost, if he has the opportunity to be back in Nigeria 7 years ago, he wouldn't have allowed most of the things on the budget be cut down because the people who work there deserved those things.

I asked him about those things and he said Nigerians are good people but sometimes they fight themselves. He said the Nigerians that were the supervisors who worked under him removed incentives, weekly allocation which were from what they produced and eventually cut down on transportation allowances for the workers. For him it was a big win because he saw that the workers could still turn up for work and not complain while the company still get to save more money.

We went on to talk about different food and he said his son likes amala and ewedu and fufu with eguisi soup.

It got busy and we bade ourselves good bye but the conversation made me sad in a way.

I remember back in Lagos when I was working as a nurse and earning 75k per month ,after transport and food at work the remaining money would be 30k left,I never had any helper .I can clearly remember that I could not call any one not even family members or friends for 5k because they also don’t have . it was a cycle of poverty after poverty the kind that weakens the soul and kills dream and talent. But I stood my ground firmly by prayer and hardwork and today 75k per month has turned to millions per month. Moral of the story is to me stop believing and praying.
