Looks like it’s a week of delayed projects in Leeds city centre… Uniqlo won’t open their doors on Briggate until 2027! 🚨

The fashion giant has pushed back the opening of their first Yorkshire store until next year, after previously having signs in the window saying ‘Opening in Spring/Summer’ and later replacing them with ‘Fall/Winter’ 🛍️

Well now they’ve opted for a bit of a safer sign, which simply reads ‘Coming Soon’ and how soon that is? Well, we don’t know 🥲 Albeit their website does say 2027 now.

Victoria’s Secret is in the unit next door and opened in November last year, and with students now moving into Store House above the UNIQLO unit… it seems the high street brand are taking a bit longer than their neighbours to move in 👀

There’s no confirmed opening date yet, so we will have to wait and see which signs appear in the window next 🙈

We’ll keep you posted!

The new entrance to Leeds train station has been hit with delays AGAIN ⏰

The council says it is “expected to begin opening” in October, with work ongoing to install and test the lifts between New Station Street and Bishopgate Street.

In February, Leeds City Council was targeting “late summer” for the £46.1m ‘Travel Gateway’ to be completed.

The project was initially supposed to be finished in September last year!

Complications involving the mill goit - a manmade channel that used to link to a Victorian mill - lying beneath the station had previously been cited as a reason for the delays.

The local authority is negotiating with Network Rail to open some elements of the scheme in advance of full completion.

It says this could allow the public realm area and steps between Bishopgate Street and New Station Street to open in early to mid-October.

The lifts between those two streets are expected to open in mid-October too. The cycle hub lifts are expected to open in late October.

Watch how this Leeds Festival stage transforms once Kneecap take to the stage 😮

Stages have been quite the talking point at Reading and Leeds this year and The Gallery after dark was no exception 🎇

It’s the first thing you see as you enter the arena… much like the Chevron Stage was last year - but this one had Leeds Fest goers covered! Quite literally! 🌧️

This was the moment Kneecap arrived at Bramham Park on Friday night.

Still no official line from organisers on what happened with The Warehouse stages at Reading and Leeds Festivals over the weekend. Artists say there were overcrowding issues, with some online claiming some guests got past barriers and ignored security - forcing the venue to stop performances for safety reasons.

All the other new stages seemed to have had a better first Leeds Fest. Do you want to see The Gallery return next year?

Check out the speed of that sign language interpreter at Skepta’s Leeds Festival set!

We joined the BSL team at Bramham Park to watch their crazy quick signing! These guys were mainly stationed by The Grid and signed along to pretty much all of the main acts - meaning they had to learn TONNES of different genres, artists, lyrics and more 🫨

And their performance at Skepta was one to marvel at!

Will, the Leeds Fest BSL co-ordinator, is deaf himself and stressed the importance of having BSL interpreters at music festivals, so that music has no barriers 🎶

The interpreters often request setlists so that they can learn the songs in advance, but sometimes they aren’t sent them - meaning they have to sign on the spot 🫪

And in the case of Skepta, these guys were signing on the spot!

We don’t know what’s quicker… the BSL sign language team or how quickly the Leeds Festival Run Club finished their 5k 🙈

Shoutout Performance Interpreting for their EPIC performance! 🫶

The Warehouse Stage has closed for the remainder of Leeds Fest! ❌

Organisers confirmed via the official festival app that there would be no more performances on the stage for the rest of the festival.

The popular dance music stage was also forced to close yesterday - supposedly due to overcrowding.

Artists like Omar+ and Silva Bumpa both had sets cancelled and expressed disappointment on their social media, citing overcrowding issues.

It reopened again this morning only to close a few hours later, leaving fans gutted. There’s been no official reason given by Festival Republic.

Its sister stage down in Reading has also been facing closure issues.

Acts still to perform in The Warehouse have been moved to the LS23 stage, with day ticket holders granted access to the campsite ⛺

We’ll keep pushing the organisers for more info and share as soon as we have it!

Coming to Leeds Fest for the side quests 🔥

From earning free drinks to earning £100 - there’s a lot to keep you busy at Leeds Fest beyond the stages.

There’s ASMR ketchup sounds at the Heinz station, and the Bramham Arms is on-hand for a beer garden pint.

If you’re saving money, activate a PayPal debit card on your phone and get 10% off most food and drinks right across the site.

Cup collection is happening again this year… Every paper cup, wine bottle or can you return is worth 10p! Collect 70 for a free pint. The maximum cashback is £25 though!

Don’t miss the Leeds Festival run club if you’re up early in the morning, and if you’re after winning £100 this weekend - take on the ‘steady head’ wire buzz game (or limbo!) to get on the leaderboard.

Cheeky 5k run around the Leeds Fest campsite anyone? 🤯🏃‍➡️

This group of festival campers have been meeting up in the early morning for the Leeds Festival run club!

Whether you’re doing it for the Strava kudos or want some exercise after a heavy night, anyone can come down and brave the two laps around Blue Campsite ⛺

It was started by Sport In Mind, a sports mental health charity - they’re encouraging people to get those endorphins before a big day of music in Bramham Park.

Content Creator Lee Mutemi has joined forces with the charity for the run club’s Saturday session!

It’s on every morning, meeting at 9:30 near the campsite entrance! Fancy giving it a go? 🤔

Florence + the Machine tells Leeds to “PUT YOUR PHONES AWAY” 📵

Guess we will have to Shake It Out… am I right Leeds?

This is the moment Florence + the Machine bossed the stage at Bramham Park, and got the WHOLE arena to put their phones down to enjoy Dog Days Are Over! We may have kept ours up for a little longer than planned 🙈

It was an incredible set from the indie rockers… plus the sun setting behind The Grid? Proper magical ✨

Safe to say, Leeds Festival 2026 certainly got the love tonight 🤍
