I have a confession to make!

Despite Hide & Seek being very proud to have released mi mye's beautiful The Sympathy Sigh LP, I've never actually listened to their self-released follow-up.

I always intended to buy it in person from them at a gig and give it some proper attention on the stereo. However I couldn't make the launch gigs and our paths haven't crossed, so I paid their bandcamp a visit recently.

Happy to report that it's another gorgeous drifty-folk beauty. Gentle, calming and wistful - it feels like a good record for these slower times. Plus if "Hay powerfool leader" isn't an appropriate song title, then I don't know what is!

Hi gang, we hope you're all keeping well.

This weekend should have been the fantastic Long Division Festival 10, in lieu of being able to stage live music they have taken events online. For their closing event, at 8pm tonight they'll be screening the 2016 Post War Glamour Girls live album documentary. A truly special evening, I've not come close to an immersive live experience like that since.

Just popping back in to let you know about a couple of cool gigs happening next week featuring some of our gang...

First up is Thurs 5th March - Bodys presents: Sam Airey + Mally Smith. Which is being hosted by our friends in Wakefield who have been putting on some really great lineups.

The second gig is also on Thurs 5th March (damn you gig clashes!) and sees David from Dancing Years play at Leeds City Varieties in support of Benjamin Francis Leftwich. Give his new project a follow here: Anew Day.

It's only a few days until we're off on a very mini tour playing all of our solo projects live! All in support of David Anew Day finally performing his new music.

Hello again.

This is exciting!

I’m Incredibly excited/nervous to announce my new solo project Anew Day!

To mark the start of this new project I will be playing three intimate shows this December with support from all of the Dancing Years alumni Joseph Lawrenson, That Is Good and D. Butler .

Since the last Dancing Years shows I have been busy writing new songs, revisiting old ones and for the past 12 months I have been recording them at home and with Joseph Montague of DY. It’s not quite finished and I’m still working on it, but 2020 should see the release of my first full-length album.

Thank you for all of the support you’ve given the band and everyone’s solo music so far, I’m looking forward to sharing this project and I know that Joe, Dom and Dan are excited to share their new music with you this December as well.
