This fabulous digital artwork titled 'Aging in colour' comes from our lovely North Art Anu D

About: 'Turning older is becoming a symphony of rising aches and pains, grey hair and an inability to have a good night’s sleep. I am mostly unconcerned about the number of candles on my imaginary birthday cake. I am more happy and settled in my own identity than ever before, have opinions that I voice when I choose. I imagine this will only solidify if I have the privilege of living longer.
So I did this painting, my vision of my older self. Hopefully still outrageously colourful and always speaking my mind.'

ROSEMARY SAYS....'My particular interest is rocks and water. Having studied geology a few years ago, I find that I am still drawn to rocks and boulders. Their colours, textures, smell and feel excite me, but also their composition, and the fact that they are often millions of years old'

ABOUT SAM: 'My work is inspired by nature, the colours, shapes and patterns that occur as the sunlight shines through plants, trees and flowers. My work is mainly completed through the medium of reduction prints using Lino. My Lino cuts are multiple layers, I find it very hard to reduce the colours I use when drawing! So often 10 colours will be the norm when I work on one of my prints. Sometimes areas I cut away are bold and other areas may be small and intricate.'

ABOUT NICOLA: 'I am an artist based in York, specialising in acrylics. My artistic journey began in 2021, learning basic acrylic techniques with short courses from Will Kemp Art School. Since then, I have been pursuing a bright and bold modern impressionist style under the tuition of Ali Kay Studio, falling in love with the expressive and freeing techniques.
