It was Father’s Day and I had the perfect surprise for my father.

I had just gotten a job in Abuja with one of the best media companies and I couldn't wait to tell him. I honestly believed it would be the best Father’s Day gift I could give him.

But then my father said NO.

A very firm NO.

And suddenly, the beautiful future I had imagined began to look very different. 😔

What followed was a journey of tears, difficult choices, betrayal, heartbreak and questions that neither father nor daughter could simply walk away from.
