This picture speaks volume. It simply defines the joy of motherhood. Through the struggle of having 3 children who actively needs your attention. I have seen so much joy, love and peace of mind.

Someone once said "kids grow so fast. No matter how stressful it is, enjoy the moment because they grow so fast".

Motherhood is surely a combination of lots. Some times it can drain you out, stop you from having your "you time" and even stop you from having a social life but motherhood builds you up to love. You just can't stop loving because it brings out the most loving part of you.

IT IS A JOURNEY! An absolute pleasure!! The most loving of all!!!

When I say that being a new mum comes with a lot, just believe it.
The uncertainty that comes with pregnancy and childbirth can be so overwhelming. Some women go through traumatizing experiences. I saw a picture of a baby who experienced a very bad amniotic band syndrome (a condition where fibrous strand from the amniotic sac, entangles a body part of a developing fetus causing constriction or deforming that body part) that almost cut off a baby's arm. Most women are in the loop and have never heard of situations like this. More needs to be done. Women need to know so they are better prepared. As these situations can affect them mentally if they are not prepared.

I always try to make sure my coffee is stronger than my toddler. Honestly, being a mum of 3 has kept me on my toes. But I am loving it. Saraphina wants to be the assistant mum. Always watching, wishing to carry, play and enjoy the company of her baby. It is fun watching them bond I am just imagining the kind of bond they will share when baby Hadassah gets to the age when she starts to run around.

A well rounded support system empowers mothers, promotes infant health and creates a nurturing environment for a family to thrive. Investing in perinatal mental health isn't just a little extra, but a transformative way of converting vulnerability to strength, growth and connection.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL SUPPORT DURING THE PERINATAL PERIOD

According to Kay, 2024, in The role of the support system in perinatal mental health and psychosocial stimulation; Women in their perinatal period need a strong support system as poor support is linked to increase in poor mental health outcome of women.

It is important that women are supported through the perinatal period as pre and post birth comes with different challenges. Lots of studies have focused on recognizing and treating perinatal mental health with only a few recognizing the importance of social support in preventing poor mental health outcome of women during these periods.

It is important to note that no two pregnancies are the same and women experience pregnancy differently. Some pregnancy experiences, can be traumatizing. Hence, the need some level of reassurance, help and comfort.

Bear in mind that parental behavior contributes to a child's social interaction and behavior. A happy mum will definitely raise a happy child it is therefore important that we show some support to women during this period.

Dear woman,
Strong bold and talented!
It is a lot! (what your body has been through)
You have been through pain, stretched and reshaped,
Yet you stand tall.
You symbolize the "never-giveup" ability.
Your strength, your resilience and your will power to go on until it's done, has birthed the world's greatest miracle.
You have done well!
Always remember that you are beautiful in every way!
