Had a weekend filling my cup ☕️ last week after working all day every day for god knows how long! And even though I love everything I do, it’s so important to rest.

We went over to Whitby and stayed at the iconic ✨ in their beach house.

Enjoyed a in their bar and also had pizza in their pizzeria one of the evenings (was lush!)

We also ate at The Vault and went for the scampi cos I’m obvs basic - but has to be done when in Whitby, right?

Enjoyed a few beers at a local independent bar and live music The George.

Had an insane French onion soup at

Breakfast was stunning both mornings, we got in lots of steps and lots of food - my idea of a weekend filling my cup!

I’ve been invited to over 100 restaurant launch nights – and honestly? Most of them get it wrong (for me) - I actually don’t think I’ve ever returned to a restaurant following attending their launch.

It’s not the food, the service, or even the marketing – it’s the strategy.

Everyone goes all in on a single launch night… and then disappears.

One big buzz = a few busy weeks. Then? Silence.

Here’s what works better:

✨ Invite influencers gradually over a few weeks
✨ Mix your guest list – fitness creators, mums, micro-creators
✨ Start with a friends + family night – supportive, forgiving, and way more useful

How I accidentally (on purpose) became a food blogger and content strategist 🤭

I never set out to be a social media manager or a content creator.
I am a primary school teacher who back in the day, lived for pub quizzes, pasta, and my next pint.

Then life flipped. I moved to Dubai, got swept up in bottomless brunch culture (who doesn’t when they’re there!?) and stunning rooftop bars… and like any millennial with a decent iPhone camera, I started taking photos of everything. 🙈🥂

What started as snapping my food turned into an Instagram page.
That page turned into making new friends, a growing following, DMs for recommendations… and eventually, paid work.

Restaurants started inviting me to launch events. Hotels were offering collabs. People trusted what I had to say… not because I was shouting the loudest, but because I kept showing up, genuinely loving the industry I was sharing.

When I moved back to the UK, I kept the food blog going, and that’s when it really took off.

Brands started noticing.

One business ended up messaging me and asking if I’d run their socials. I had zero formal experience but said yes.

Fast forward a year and a half…(after lots of training and investment into my business)

I’ve worked with restaurants, hotels, wedding brands and creatives. I’ve built content strategies that actually convert. I’ve helped businesses ditch the faff and finally feel confident online.

And I still run my foodie blog on the side, and now capture weddings too (which still feels surreal, btw).

I can’t help it… even in a room full of people, my brain’s planning their content strategy (as if I know the business their own 😉)
