LOST198 - OUT NOW

LOST198 sees versatile Danish producer Jens Jakob return to EL-EL for the first time since remixing Qoob's My Heroes (under his Nordic Echoes moniker), delivering the sublime On A Rainy Day - our first release of 2026, as we edge ever closer to LOST200 / the end of the world.

Premiered in China back in August of 2025 alongside 25 years worth of LL faves, On A Rainy Day immediately felt like a classic - a dreamy, wistful trancer with a breakdown that draws as much on early-90s shoegaze as it does late-90s courtyard-esque trance.

Fresh from his Uno / Aether double A-side on Borderline Records, Jon Mangan makes his Lost Language label debut AND delivers his first-ever remix, reframing the original with a tougher, bouncier backbone, and an old-school Signum-inspired groove.

In another label first, Nottingham-based Gamble + Jones deliver a progressive rework that reshapes the track, leaning hard into the guitars - bringing decades of studio experience, and a rich heritage of underground credibility to the party.

Rounding out the release is 1999, a second original from Jens Jakob - deep, pensive, and firmly rooted in the late-90s tech-trance continuum.

Just found these badges / promo baggies in a box of old flyers. Not sure what we made them for initially - maybe we were sending them out with vinyl sales on hooj.com ? I can’t remember. I do recall giving some out at the Miami music conference in March 2003, though. I was staying with Markus Schulz and his family that week. They were perfect hosts and we had a lot of fun. There was a massive Hooj Choons party at The O***m Garden on March 17th, with Medicine8, Sander Kleinenberg, and Tom Middleton, then just as we were running out of drugs on the 20th, we all watched The US invade Iraq, backed by a lying Tony Blair / UK gov. Bummer. Thankfully Tiesto lifted our mood by playing (what was then) a career defining set at Ultra on the 22nd (link in comments) - then we all went home, and I chucked these badges in a box, where they’ve been rusting ever since. Has anyone else got one? Are they the last 3 in existence?

JESH - Afterglow / My Mind (LOST197) - link in comments:

We're off to Leeds for LOST197 where JESH makes his EL-EL debut with the 21st-century-deep-trancer AFTERGLOW.

Beautifully crafted, with a nod to the late 90's / early 00's big room prog of Mark Shimmon, Miller & Floyd, Christian West et al - it's an exercise in build and restraint, with a melodic 'martian sunset' payoff in the widescreen sci-fi breakdown.

SUNDA, last seen on the label with his gorgeous remix of Q00B's Sun's Horses', has continued to build a reputation for producing deep soulful melodic trance. His remix here is no exception - a classy rework, that dials up the trance whilst preserving the progressive nature of the original.

HALCYON is a name to watch, and we've got a stunning original of his on the way very soon, but here he twists Afterglow into a new breed techno / trance crossover, that draws heavily on the likes of LSG / Oliver Lieb. Hard and beautiful in all the right places.

We love a strong bonus track here at LL towers, so rounding things off we have another JESH original: MY MIND - pushing his sound deeper into analogue-driven Techno territory.
