1,000 Port Harcourt Residents to Protest Against Illegal House Agents
On Monday, 1st September 2025, 1,000 residents of Port Harcourt will take to the streets to protest the injustice, fraud, and exploitation carried out by unregistered house agents operating illegally.
These agents extort innocent civilians by:
Showing houses that don’t exist, just to collect an agent fee.
Charging ₦10,000 or more for viewing.
Presenting houses already paid for by others — leaving victims losing as much as ₦200,000 before realizing the scam.
Exploiting the jobless situation to pose as “agents” with no license or regulation.
We say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! This exploitation must stop.
We are law-abiding citizens, and we demand accountability, transparency, and justice in the housing sector.
