MP invites families to charity cricket event supporting LOROS

Leicester East MP Shivani Raja is inviting families, cricket fans and communities from across Leicester and beyond to attend a fun-filled charity cricket event in support of LOROS.

Monday 31 August 2026
11am–5pm
Rushey Fields Recreation Ground, Harrison Road, Leicester, LE4 7AB

The event will feature cricket activities for people of all ages and abilities. Attendees can take part, support the participants or simply enjoy a day outdoors with family and friends.

Food vendors and refreshments will also be available, while community leaders from across the area are expected to attend and help celebrate Leicester’s diversity and community spirit.

All funds raised will go directly to LOROS, supporting its vital work providing compassionate hospice care to local people and their families.

Everyone is welcome to attend and help bring Leicester’s communities together this Bank Holiday.

A 2-Day Out for Everyone: Inside the Ever-Growing Leicester Motor Show, when Heten Tejura organised the first Motor Show fourteen years ago, it was a modest gathering of car lovers.

A few dozen vehicles, a handful of traders and a couple of thousand visitors. Today, it has transformed into one of the regions largest free motoring events, drawing crowds that would fill a small stadium and offering attractions far beyond the world of engines and alloys.

This August, the show returns to Leicester Airport after a year in Market Harborough, a decision driven simply by public demand.
