Morning! The big one this week is the Trance Day Party at Fat Cat on Saturday, five hours of euphoric, hands-in-the-air trance from Armin van Buuren to Above & Beyond. There’s plenty else on too, with Copacabana Magic and the Glenn Miller Orchestra both at De Montfort Hall this weekend, and Jamie Webster live at the O2 Academy on Sunday night.

The one to get in the diary this week is the Leicester Wellness Festival, back at The Venue at DMU on Saturday 5th September for its fifth year with free yoga all day, sound baths, and 80+ holistic stalls. There’s plenty else on too, with The Victory Show at Foxlands Farm on Saturday, Proms on the Pitch at the County Cricket Club, and a Big Record Fair at Aylestone Leisure Centre on Sunday.

Morning! The big one this week is the Yiannimize Live Motor Show, taking over Leicester Airport across Saturday and Sunday. Supercars, drag racing on the runway, helicopter rides, live wrestling, a funfair, and 50+ stalls, all free to get into. There’s plenty else on too, with The Railway Children outdoor theatre at Abbey Pumping Station, GirlyPop Live at Athena on Sunday, and a Reggae and Dancehall Brunch at 2Funky on Saturday.

This week the West End Day Party is at Athena from 3pm with live vocalists and five hours of show tunes, and Madness are at Abbey Park all afternoon with four decades of ska and Neville Staple. Friday night, Austentatious is at De Montfort Hall, one night only, fully improvised Jane Austen, and nobody knows the title until the audience shouts one out.

Morning! Big week ahead. Jimmy Carr lands at De Montfort Hall on Thursday night with the 7pm show already sold out and the 9:30pm still available for anyone who enjoys laughing and then immediately wondering if they should have. The weekend brings Riverside Festival back to the waterside with two days of live music, street food, arts and family activities, all completely free. Then on Sunday, the Leicester Market Record Fair takes over Green Dragon Square with thousands of vinyl records and enough crate-diggers to make finding one rare LP look like an Olympic sport.

Morning! Half term week and it’s a good one. The R&B Day Fest takes over Frog Island on Saturday with seven hours of old school and new school R&B outdoors from 3pm. Thursday night, Queen Heaven turns the UK’s largest planetarium into a full surround-sound Queen experience, and there’s Clay Play Day at The Guildhall on Wednesday for the kids. Also this week, Troy Hawke is at De Montfort Hall on Thursday, TaylorMania is on Saturday afternoon, and the Half Term Railway Day is at Abbey Pumping Station on Tuesday if you need something to do with the little ones.

The day before, Midlands Makers takes over LCB Depot on Saturday with 45+ vendors. Then Saturday night, the UK’s biggest Whitney Houston tribute hits De Montfort Hall. Also this week, Midge Ure is at De Montfort Hall on Monday, Roland Gift does 40 years of Fine Young Cannibals on Friday, and the Elder Emo Day Party is at 2Funky on Saturday afternoon.

Morning! Big weekend coming. The Spring Craft Fair takes over The Guildhall on Saturday and Sunday, local makers, artists, and food in the courtyard for £1. Same Saturday, the 90s Day Party is at Fat Cat from 3pm, three releases already sold out and the fourth is going fast. Then Thursday, ten Strictly Come Dancing professionals hit De Montfort Hall with a full live band. Also worth flagging, Judi Love is at De Montfort Hall on Friday, David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday Party is at Attenborough Arboretum on Sunday, and there’s a tribute to Oasis at the O2 Academy on Friday night.

Also on Saturday, Country Club’s indoor country music festival is back at Athena after selling out last year, five hours of line dancing and cowboy hats. Then on Sunday, the London Bollywood Orchestra brings 80 years of Bollywood hits to De Montfort Hall live. Also worth knowing, Jen Brister is at De Montfort Hall on Thursday, Alfie Boe on Saturday, and Free Comic Book Day at Forbidden Planet on Saturday morning if you’re up early.

Morning! Big one this Saturday. The Old Town Festival takes over the city centre for free, Vikings, battle re-enactments, a fire-breathing dragon, and an artisan market all in one day. Then Sunday, Japan Fest lands at the Tigers stadium with taiko drumming, J-Pop, sake tasting, a cosplay parade, and street food that alone justifies the trip. Also this week, Derren Brown is at De Montfort Hall all week if you fancy something that’ll mess with your head, and the Sea Glass Workshop at The Guildhall on Sunday is worth a look if you want a quieter kind of Sunday.
