The May Queen Reigns Again At Belgrade Theatre, Coventry This Season👑

Set in Coventry on May Day 2022, the focus is on Leigh, a sixteen year old who has been crowned the May Queen. But her reign is short lived, and when her crown is taken, Leigh must move on with her life, whilst dwelling on her past mistakes on that fateful day. Can she get out of her situation? And what was it that got her there in the first place? All will be explored in this one woman show…

Belgrade Theatre, Coventry is bringing you an all-new take on the Shakespeare classic, Othello. 🎭

This one-of-a-kind show will feature in Coventry UK City of Culture from Saturday 7th to Saturday 21st May, and will include a mixed heritage community chorus from across the city. Described as “absurdist, anarchic, insightful and witty” the show dives deeper into the relationship between Othello and Desdemona, whilst exploring what it is to be of mixed heritage.

Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’ Arrives At Belgrade Theatre, Coventry 🐷

The brand new stage adaptation of George Orwell’s classic novel, Animal Farm, is arriving at Belgrade Theatre from 12th – 16th April.

The play follows the animals of Manor Farm and tells the story of a revolution and its aftermath, directed by Robert Ike and featuring the puppetry of Toby Olié, the story has been re-imagined by an award-winning creative team making the show a dynamic, daring and contemporary take on a timeless story.

Belgrade Theatre, Coventry has announced they will be officially launching their new Nineteen 58 bar on Tuesday 28th September!

The launch party will see press and local VIPs alike exploring the new and stunningly decorated Nineteen 58 bar, which is part of a massive £5.5 million redevelopment that includes the new look The Belgrade Cafe.

The stylish retro interior is not the only new element, as they have introduced a new delicious menu of fresh and locally sourced food, perfect for pre/post theatre snacks.
